Our first event — the Men’s Health Expo — focuses on creating an open, healing space for men to connect, learn, and vibe together through the power of music and mindfulness. Jersey City’s legendary Moore’s Place, classically known as Bill & Ruth’s lounge, has brought much great energy and peace through Jazz music & more. This event is about holistic health: mind, body, and soul. Whether you come to unwind, listen, learn, or connect, this is a safe and affirming space to do it. Join us there Saturday, November 29th [7PM-12AM] for the first Soul Exchange! This session will be a night of music, mindfulness, and encouraging conversation on men’s health. @buddhabanji  will be opening with a guided meditation and sound bath. The event is rooted in reports of tourists and new residents in Puerto Rico trying to quiet or even harm coquíes because they say they’re “too loud” for them at night. It’s become symbolic of how culture, sound, and presence are erased through gentrification. The Greenroom’s location in downtown JC, once a deeply Puerto Rican area, makes it even more meaningful. Happy to announce publically that I have been chosen as a recipient of the Jersey City Arts and Culture Fund’s Individual Artist Fellowship Award! It not only feels great to get money (LOL) but to be honored by the city your family has been in for generations! More to come soon!
