So much fun to spend a night out in Chinatown with my friends @domusvim , @marinapink_ and @heyandy11 with @broadsheet_syd at Mother Chu’s Taiwanese Gourmet (@mychumama ) and Banchō (@banchobar ) - two of my favourite spots!
@dexterkim_ really captured what makes Chinatown so special: community, culture, tradition, nostalgia and of course food and drink. Usually this stuff isn’t really my jam but the brief was authentic and aligned to me. Honestly if we go out in Chinatown together, that’s the type of night you’ll have 🫡 Cheers @taylorsilk for teeing it all up and keeping it profesh.

@wongchef (exec chef @lanadining and @martinez__sydney ) and @heyandy11 (exec chef @easytigerbondibeach and @island.radio ) are certified “Young and Dangerous”. With Chinese-Australian and Chinese-Indonesian heritage to boot, these young chefs - like many before them - have been cruising around Sydney’s Chinatown for years. Now they return for a one-night-only pop-up at Chinatown’s favorite speakeasy @banchobar on Sunday 27 October, showcasing an innovative menu drawing on their cultural heritage and culinary prowess.
It will be a night of collaboration, celebration and community, with music by @dylnmngny (DJ set).
📆: Sunday 27 October (two sittings from 6-8pm, 8-10pm)
📍: Banchō (10 Thomas Ln, Haymarket)
💰: $99 set menu (plus booking fee)
Proceeds of each ticket with go to Soul of Chinatown’s Rice Fund - a charity initiative that uplifts elderly Asian-Australians and other disadvantaged groups in the community.
