BIG SUMMER UPDATES AND TRANSITION 2026
Alhamdulilah, November and December were both record breaking months in terms of what we’ve raised to support those in life-or-death desperate need in Sudan.
In November we raised $20,531 and in December we raised $21,746. I'm so proud that you chose to move with dignity, generosity and care.
November and December's funds were both a combination of many individual donations and a handful of fundraisers - with more to come.
CHANGES -
I wrapped up 2025 severely burnt out and have had a few people raise concerns of their accounts being blocked due to large amounts of money moving through their bank accounts. As a result, I have decided to move this campaign to chuffed.org as a conduit for donations.
PERKS OF Chuffed.org
It serves as a one-stop place where people can see how the campaign is going and see for themselves the donations coming in. This saves me from doing a full break-down every month.
It also ensures I won’t have any banking issues or tax woes further down the road as chuffed.org has an in-built tax receiptung for Australia, USA and Canada and categorises the funds as non-assesable (taxable) income.
It means I don’t have to worry about paying tax on larger donations, not that it has become an issue, but better safe than sorry.
REST ASSURED
The account in my bio is still active and the funds that go through Cuffed.org get released into the same account so if you’re someone with recurring payments to my account (I love you), then don’t stress, it’s not a huge deal if you don’t rush to change it.
I want people to start donating via chuffed but I understand the transition may take some time so rest assured none of the $ will be lost in the process. It all goes to the same place. This is mainly for the larger contributions anyway.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF CHUFFED
Unfortunately, there is a flat-fee of 5% that we’ll be paying on the total fortnightly donations that get released out of Chuffed.org. This fee is not from your individual donations, but the total amount raised and released fortnightly.
I will still be sending money overseas monthly.

Last night we gave out 106 care packages filled with Rice, Pasta, Lentils, Oil, Sugar and Tea to Sudanese women who had fled into Egypt. It should last them about a week. If you calculate it, it's about $8 per family for about a weeks sustenance to continue on until some day they return to their previous precious lives in Sudan.
One thing I noticed is the women had quite nice garments on, which goes to show they had much nicer lives before this predicament and they're not accustomed to needing help - nor should anyone be. While it was recieved with gratitude it was nowhere near enough. Our hearts broke another time as we ran out and the women and mothers desperately tried to beg.
It was so harrowing having to drive away in the empty van as they chased after us in desperation. I won't be sharing any vision of those moments of chaos because it's too dehumanising but that image is etched into my brain forever.
In response I want to make this a monthly thing where I'll collect on a monthly basis so we can keep giving.

April is at a little over $500 1/3 of the way through the month. How am I going to explain our support has dropped by 90% this month?
That's an innumerous amount of victims we'd have to turn away.

Alhamdulillah January was a huge month largely in part to the mammoth effort from the @funrun4mutualaid crew!
My only observation of this month is that I'm grateful to see how Mutual Aid has just become an every day part of so many people's lives.
It's like there are those of us who feel helpless, and those who are now just getting used to this additional side project that we all can/must contribute something to.
That we’ll just continue try make the world a better place while carrying on with survival/thriving - the two are not mutually exclusive.
Yes, there is sacrifice and devotion but there is also abundance and mutual support/love!

The video at the end is a message from elders in Sudan sending their deepest well wishes and prayers.
It's believed that prayers made from older faithful people hold a special power as their connection to the divine is backed by decades of spiritual practice and piety. I hope their prayers manifest for you.

Our third recipient is our friend Bakri’s Ongoing Fund for Sudan.
Sudan is currently facing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Since April 2023, UAE-backed violence from the RSF has killed tens of thousands and forced millions from their homes. Families are going without food, clean water and basic medical care.
Bakri has been fundraising for communities in Sudan through his own personal connections for the last year and a half, and has established an ongoing mutual aid fund that responds to what people actually need, when they need it, from emergency food and medical support to helping families survive displacement and ongoing violence.
What we have raised so far from the Fun Run 4 Mutual Aid is an incredible collective achievement but the reality is that it doesn’t even begin to cover what is needed to help communities continue to survive.
We urge you to think about how you continue to support Bakri’s Ongoing Fund for Sudan long term as well as other Sudanese mutual aid efforts that support communities directly.
