We’re happy to announce that our previously funded desludging project in IDP camps across Tigray is now actively being implemented. Thanks to our dedicated implementing partner #OSSHD, who is truly doing the heavy lifting on the ground to make this effort possible. 💪🏽🚧
The photos you see here were taken today at the Seba Care 4 site in Mekelle. This work marks an important step toward improving sanitation, protecting health, and upholding dignity for families who have been displaced.

In response to urgent humanitarian needs, the Tigray Disaster Relief Fund is allocating an initial $20,000 USD for emergency relief to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Tigray.
This immediate allocation reflects our commitment to stand in solidarity with displaced families and respond where the need is most critical.
An global fundraising campaign will be launched shortly to help expand these efforts and reach more communities in need.

Earlier this year, TDRF supported 750 internally displaced persons in Tigray with two months of essential food assistance, prioritizing elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and lactating mothers. In IDP camps across Tigray, the absence of functioning latrines puts communities at heightened risk of gender-based violence and disease. TDRF has partnered with OSSHD to restore latrine access in 16 IDP camps for the next three months, strengthening protection for women and girls and reducing the spread of communicable diseases. Dignity begins with sanitation.
