Looking back at 2025 full of@gratitude for all the amazing collaborators and artists that I got to work with. Here’s a little snippet of an expansive year when it comes to my creative life. 1. Looking Back ✨ 2. Released a sci-fi audio visual album w the incredible @ahywong_ 3. Had some immersive audio installations travel globe, this one in Amsterdam 4. Attended an incredible gathering in Slovenia of 1000+ folx from 90 countries all working to create a better, more compassionate and just world. Thanks you @thewellbeingp for having me! 5/6/7. Got to present @spatialfest and be in residency @monomstudios . Big thanks to @shehryawr for all your insights and good company! 8. Had a great time putting together an AV performance @polygongallery 9/10. Thank you @indiansummerfestival for letting put some of my favourite poets and musicians on stage and always a pleasure to be alongside my KIN @professahexile777 11. And before you know it, 2024 is at its end. Thank you for your participation, visit, support or online engagement for making this year’s programme possible. Because of you, we can be a meeting place for multi-sensory art and critical conversations, and new perspectives on our everyday surroundings. Huge thanks to all the artists with whom we were privileged to work. 🙏 Our team looks back on a dynamic year, which saw the ninth festival edition Outer/Body come to life. Partnerships with The Rest Is Noise and Aural Spaces were unique highlights, emphasising the richness and innovative nature of audiovisual performance and spatial sound artists. Our Reassemble Lab programme explored the art of making sound, visuals and storytelling fundamentally change when using AI. It has also been a tough year, with the shadow of international wars and inhumane realities looming over us. This strengthens us to do what we do: give support and space to meaningful stories and experiences of talented artists and designers that make us reflect, dream and offer directions towards a desirable futures. To come together in these challenging times to share and experience culture is a great thing. We close the year with a special project: our writers dossier called Thinking Bodies by 15 contributors, which takes a deep dive into the Outer/Body festival research. Aural Spaces in het prachtige @concertgebouw . Met shows van @caecilietrier , @setfiretoloraine , @almaquartet en @marijn.cinjee & @julia.sinclair.music . Ik heb heel wat concerten gezien, maar door het geluidssysteem van @4dsound en het indrukwekkende licht van @nickverstand , was dit een compleet nieuwe ervaring. Vastgelegd met mijn @fujifilmnederland X-H2.

Still buzzing from last Sunday! Together with @julia.sinclair.music , we premiered our new album "Wind Takes Flight"live @Concertgebouw Amsterdam the closing act for @auralspaces festival. The concert was sold-out, and we had a truly magical evening, a huge milestone for us, performing music that’s been in the works for over a year. . "Wind Takes Flight" blends early medieval music with modern electronic soundscapes, inspired by the 12th-century composer Hildegard of Bingen. The performance was presented in an immersive 40.4 spatial audio system taking the experience to another level. . Listeners also received a copy of our new EP "Constellation", a limited edition featuring 4 tracks from the album. The full "Wind Takes Flight" album will debut next July in vinyl, digital, and Dolby Atmos formats. Our spatial composition on 4DSOUND playing in Concertgebouw on Thursday morning was quite an unique experience. After learning to work with the system for several days, this was the moment our experiments could be heard by an audience, in the magnificent Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, playing on 40 speakers. It was great to work on this composition with @chaggylalala @katrehelenkask and @mischadaams .

Curious what Loraine James has crafted for her spatial sound concert this Friday? So are we! FIBER invites Loraine James to perform a newly commissioned composition in @4dsound , after a co-production residency at @monomstudios . During @auralspaces on Friday, December 13, James will explore the innovative spatial sound instrument to create and spatialise a unique sonic landscape in the Recital Hall of @concertgebouw For this special occasion, she will perform a brand new musical project, commissioned by FIBER for Aural Spaces. For this specially made composition, James will explore the innovative spatial sound instrument to create and spatialise a unique sonic landscape. To create this special composition, Loraine (@setfiretoloraine ) did a residency at MONOM Studios, experimenting for the first time with 4DSound technology. During her residency, she explored the spatial possibilities of sound, shaping her compositions in space using the 4DSOUND system and instrument. By using the system as her instrument, the sounds she composed are not heard as coming from speakers; rather, they appear in space as entities with tangible physical presence, depth, and dimensionality. Finally it’s here: Thursday, the second edition of Aural Spaces finally kicks off. The whole team has put a lot of hard work into it, and a multi-day spatial sound programme is ready to go. As we approach our spatial listening festival, we’d like to highlight some of the artists in our programme to give you a taste of what to expect! The Dutch premiere of Evita Manji’s listening piece is a haunting soundtrack which meditates on the resonance of space and the rhythmic pulse of music, intertwining the ephemeral with the profound. On Sunday, @evitamanji will present Echo(location) Chamber, inviting you to experience a spatial composition that explores internal landscapes where echoes trace the outlines of space in darkness. In 2023 Manji's first album Spandrel? was released and in 2024 they released the track Berlin Nightmare as part of the posthumous second release of the legendary artist and their late partner SOPHIE. Echo(location) Chamber was composed and developed during a residency at Berlin-based MONOM. Prior to this listening session, there will be an introduction and Q&A with Evita Manji and William Russell from @monomstudios Opening the festival on Thursday is Danish cellist and composer CTM (Cæcilie Trier Musik @caecilietrier ). Together with pianist Jakob Littauer she will deliver a delicate listening experience blending her classical music with an open, poetic atmosphere. CTM’s music moves seamlessly from intimate melodies to unexpected, glitchy disruptions. At times her music sounds intimate and familiar, but the unexpected twists of glitchy sounds are always lurking, which can suddenly change the level of tension.This concert is commissioned by @concertvrienden , @jouwentree and @4dsound .
