My solo exhibition LONDON LIVES! ended on Monday after one incredible month at Barbican Library. What an amazing June it has been. When I first visited the Barbican 17 years ago I could have never imagined that one day I would get to exhibit there. It’s not only one of my favourite places in London, but an important place for me where I go to seek peace and quiet. @barbicanandcommunitylibraries is a public library in the heart of @barbicancentre with a community arts space offering an incredibly varied programme with opportunities for up-and-coming artists. I’m immensely proud of having been selected to exhibit here this June and take part in the @londonfestivalofarchitecture Thank you all for visiting, and to those who turned up for one of my tours (pictured) – I admire your endurance! A special mention to the people who contributed with their help and support. Without you this would have never happened: @nurixcoll @m_jonesy17 @jamiechen0203 @marielenclos @stainedglassatmorley @arinaorlova.art @anna_suwalowska @george_serafim1 Photos by @irene_mzz6 Exciting things are brewing in the horizon and I can’t wait to share them with you! #barbicanlibrary #barbican #barbicancentre #londonfestivalofarchitecture #LFA2025 #voices #architecturalart #art #artist #contemporaryart #architecture #londonlives #cityoflondon #london #londonarchitecture #artexhibition #communityarts #characterdesign

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the opening of LONDON LIVES! on Wednesday evening at Barbican Library. I hope you had a good time! It meant so much to me seeing so many friends and familiar faces coming together under the roof of one of my favourite places in London. I wish I’d had more time to thank you personally! The last few days have been a whirlwind. It was my first time driving a van, and my first time driving into Central London, and at rush hour! No need to say I didn’t sleep very well the night before 🫩 But everything came together wonderfully on the private view night. Now I can’t wait for more people to enjoy the exhibition which will run all month till June 30. A special mention to the staff @barbicanandcommunitylibraries for their invaluable help and guidance; and to the @londonfestivalofarchitecture for welcoming me to the #LFA2025 And last but not least, the people without whom this would have never happened: @nurixcoll @m_jonesy17 @yshhhoi @jamiechen0203 @marielenclos @stainedglassatmorley @anna_suwalowska @george_serafim1 Photos and videos courtesy of @arinaorlova.art @katiehinchliffe @mattgdale @natalia.lewandowska.art @soletdemi LONDON LIVES! is on till June 30 at Barbican Library. The exhibition is free and open every day except for Sundays. Another sold-out workshop—and what a night it was! I was thrilled to partner with @millerknoll to host my ‘Wreckage and Repair’ collage illustration workshop at @mjfinteriors.uk stunning Clerkenwell showroom, this time bringing together the talented A&D community. We spent the evening diving into all things London— surrounded by incredible design, great food, flowing drinks, and beautiful furniture. The atmosphere was electric, and the creativity on display did not disappoint. Participants fully embraced the process, transforming simple materials into striking collage pieces inspired by London’s rich architectural heritage. ‘Wreckage and Repair’ is all about reconnecting with the city—exploring your personal relationship with London and translating that into something tangible, expressive, and uniquely yours to take home. All materials are drawn from @the_london.archives extraordinary collection of vintage photography, capturing the spirit and history of London’s most iconic buildings. A huge thank you to Matt, Eve, Molly, and Josh for being such fantastic hosts and helping make the evening so special. More to come soon! #architecture #workshop #collage #collageworkshop #londonarchitecture #design #thelondonarchives #millerknoll #mjfinteriors #clerkenwell

I recently met the @friends_of_kensalgreencemetery to hand over to them the first edition print of my pen and pencil original inspired by their beautiful cemetery. The original drawing is an interpretation of Kensal Green Cemetery as the Grim Reaper, shown crawling scythe in hand, ready for the next lethal swing. It’s made with pen and pencil on paper and it’s an abstraction of the map of the cemetery, whith the imposing Neoclassical gate as its head and its insides spilling out where the Harrow Road wall collapsed. I took great care in making an accurate depiction of the layout of the multiple paths and monuments, going on numerous site visits last year, taking tons of photos and looking at satellite imagery and maps. Every Giclée print is signed and numbered by me on Hahnemüle Photo Rag paper, size A2 –same as the original– and limited to a run of 50. The print is available from my online shop above. This drawing is the fifth entry in my series inspired by the Magnificent Seven cemeteries of London. Only Nunhead and Highgate Cemeteries remain! #cemetery #londoncemeteries #cemeteryart #kensalgreencemetery #originalart #map #mapart #magnificentseven #londonarchitecture #architecture #grimreaper #characterdesign

Cycles is now on at the @espaciogallery gallery in Shoreditch till 31 March. The exhibition brings together selected works by emerging artists and celebrates the passage of time – the seasons we move through, the changes we endure and the growth that quietly shapes who we become Cycles is delightfully curated by @paintingprogress_ who are raising funds for @cottontreetrust – a charity providing vital assistance to refugees and asylum seekers. For this show I have selected a combination of original drawings and prints that cover different periods of my life in London with a special focus on my old stomping ground of Tower Hamlets, where the exhibition takes place. There will be a silent auction taking place today and I will be making a selection of works available at affordable prices so if you are looking for a bargain make sure to check @paintingprogress_ socials. A huge thank you to @bow_kumar and her team for inviting me to participate and organising this in record time Photos by @forsytes and @y0uph0ria_ #contemporaryart #drawing #architecture #architecturedrawing #artexhibition #espaciogallery #paintingprogress #cycles #londonarchitecture #towerhamlets #londonart

My second illustration for the @architectsjournal that went along with the report by @_josh.butler on AI software being used to fight planning applications. The second half of the article talks about finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict between NIMBYs and developers we saw last time. Ideally, both sides will learn to use the technology to help each other make better decisions and, in the long run, create better architecture for everybody. Thank you @maria_rodriguez_design #architectsjournal #illustration #AI #development #architecture #cartoon

My latest illustration for the @architectsjournal ! The article by @_josh.butler hones in on the –figurative– AI ‘arms race’ over development in which both sides are using the technology against each other: NIMBYs to object to developers’ planning applications, and architects to anticipate and defuse those challenges. Will this war come to a happy end? Certainly, this is what I am asking myself right now. #architectsjournal #illustration #architecture #editorialillustration #AI #development #cartoon #satire

I am featured in a new @gestalten book! The book is called ‘This is Where We Live’ and it’s a compilation of artists and illustrators who have architecture and space at the centre of their practice. I have long been a fan of their publications so being featured in one now, among so many great artists, is a dream come true. You will find me in the ‘Architectural Memory: Drawing as Archive and Anecdote’ section. ‘This Is Where We Live’ is out now – you can buy it following the link in my bio. #gestalten #architecture #illustration #architectureart #space #cities #builtenvironment #contemporaryart #londonarchitecture #drawing #londonart #architecturedrawing #architectureillustration #characterdesign #design #thisiswherewelive

My most recent commission is this pen and pencil drawing of @villaalmanita – a historic 18th century ‘masia’ in the outskirts of Barcelona. The client, not in Spain but based in London, got in touch with the idea of commissioning an original artwork for his dear friends, who had just got married in this stunning Catalan villa on the sunny Mediterranean coast. As a born and bred Barcelonian I found this an amusing coincidence. The illustration is a retelling of their memorable wedding day, described to me in great detail by the client, who outlined the different stages of the event, and how it moved across the multiple locations within the venue. From the bride and groom’s arrival through the gated entrance, to the ceremony in the lush terraced gardens; the al fresco reception in the courtyard and, finally, the ball in the vaulted bodega turned ballroom. These special moments are all happening at once in the artwork, memorialised together in the shape of a circle, an ancient symbol for marital union. If you are interested in commissioning a piece of original artwork get in touch by DM. @conr.smrt #originalart #drawing #illustration #architectureart #architectureillustration #art #villaalmanita #illustratedspace

Thank you for coming to my ‘Wreckage and Repair’ workshop on Valentine’s Day at @the_london.archives ! We discussed London –the things we love, as well as the things that drive us mad– and channeled our findings into a piece of collage art. I hope you had a good time! This was my first collage illustration workshop and I was a bit daunted by it but I’m very pleased with the result. The quality of the work created by the participants was impressive – I felt so overwhelmed by the amount of great artworks that I failed to photograph them all! The event sold out on one of the busiest days this year at The London Archives, coinciding with the last weekend of their superb Blitz exhibition – last day tomorrow! A huge thank you to Rós and Diana from Herne Hill for kindly donating piles of great magazines that made the workshop a lot more fun. Hopefully there will be more like these in the future! Featured works by: @paulshinndraws @chloecampbellart @harsheyshivanee @dcmm90 Next up for me is a group show curated by @paintingprogress_ raising funds for @cottontreetrust at the @espaciogallery in Shoreditch, 25-31 March. More details to follow soon! #architecture #collage #workshop #illustration #thelondonarchives #london #londonhistory #londonarchitecture #illustrationworkshop #valentinesday #alternativevalentines
