EC-1 Personal Droid! Files now available! Please read everything so you don't miss the competition! Introducing EC-1 this is something that I started as a little sketch on some scrap paper that I decided to use to learn how to 3D model better and to give my daughter her own droid as she's always wanted one! There were many amendments and changes while I learned new skills. Droid Division then helped me tweak it and give it that magic only DD files have! This has been designed to be an easy make using a small build plate so any maker can have a go, and not need a huge amount of space! This is perfect on a Bambulab machine as you can have it all printed super quick, especially when combined with their filament! Now this model is going to be available, FOR FREE to all who have purchased or now purchase the DD Pit Droid! So not only is the amazing PD from DD a must have, it now has this little extra to make it even more of a builders dream! (Humble brag ha) I would love to see this built all over the world and to help that become a possibility I am giving away a 3D printed parts kit to a random person who follows us and likes this post! Halloween 2022! This year the spawn decided she wanted to be a Ghostbuster again (without my influence honest!) but also wanted us both to be paranormal investigators! As such I started work on Daddy and Daughter Proton packs! We also made Scoleri Brothers pumpkins, had real looking moving ghosts in the windows (went down really well with visitors) spider pizzas and roadkill burgers made out of sweets to look like real burgers! One massive but knackering trick or treat session! I have tagged some of those who have been influential in making the pack. It's taken too long for me to make one! So a little while ago I was asked if I had challenge coin as someone wanted to do a trade. They showed me a really nice metal coin, but sadly I had nothing to exchange. This got me thinking... I love the idea of challenge coins, but feel it can not be accessible to all as to make/make them in the current form is expensive. So I knocked up my own coin in Fusion 360 in an attempt to get more involved to show that as makers we can use our own skills. I hope that as Makers Together we can start involving more by making our coins! I have reached out to a number of makers already and sent some coins out. We are a community, let's be as inclusive as we can and get making some coins!! MASSIVE LEGO! When you start a tradition of creating something to remember Pinewood Futures Festival, it can be hard to think of a new idea to top the last year. However watching Uncle Jessy I was instantly inspired by his massive Lego Star Wars ships.......so I knew we needed 500% scale Lego Ghostbusters! And to complete the mega figs? Pinewood Futures Festival 2026....Just wow. An amazing few days of fun and awesome memories with the Ecto guys! Love my fellow @ghostbusters . Privileged to know them. Thank you Aus for letting me into the team, it's been a great few years! @pinewoodstudios were kind enough to let me back into my dream world again and there was just nothing but amazing people and super happy visitors! There were some amazing things to see, @greens_team had an awesome experience of all seasons in 1. @cineco.co had set from the amazing show Silo! @makinariumukltd always leave me in awe! thanks to @stevenwalkerprops for letting me fanboy! The show by @thefallguystunts was stunning! @brandingfocus letting us geek out and learn about the amazing items they make. Loved chatting with my fellow @droidbuildersuk , so much so I never got any photos or videos! Great to catch up with @first_degree_fx and @dmspockets the @501st_ukgarrison looking awesome everyday! @ghostbustersgear bailing me out at the last minute with awesome stand files after I decided it was a good idea to build a @mr_kiou slime blower in a day! What an absolutely amazing weekend to remember at @pinewoodstudios for the Futures Festival. An amazing event to help the future of the screen industry! With thousands of people in attendance we were so lucky to be invited along! As a top secret mission beforehand we can now say what a once in a lifetime event this was to us! It was amazing to meet so many amazing people, make new friends and see the reaction to the caddy and the props. So many smiles, it really made it so worthwhile. Even after the journey starting with a massive breakdown and only getting an hours sleep before day 1! Nothing was going to stop us being there! So many amazing and wonderful moments of our days there I honestly can't pick one! But making new friends and sharing this with the truly amazing Ecto boys has been a memory for life. On top of this, thousands have been raised for charity which just makes it even more epic! Big thanks to those who organized it and made us feel part of the family. Even if we were jealous of the Pinewood hoodies / golf buggies ha!
