Wishing all Star Wars fans around the world a happy Star Wars day. Especially all the droid builders out there who put in so much work through the whole year and not just on May the 4th.
At the weekend we had the pleasure of not only attending @capitalscificon helping to raise money for @supportchas - we also had the pleasure of unveiling Scotland’s #r2kt
For those that don’t know the back story:
R2-KT is a pink droid builtas a heartfelt tribute to Katie Johnson, the young daughter of @official501st founder @albinjohnson , who was battling terminal brain cancer. The R2-D2 Builders Club built the droid to fulfill Katie’s wish for a droid to watch over her, and it later became a symbol of hope for children’s charities
On Saturday we had the pleasure of surprising the @isg_501st and @rebellegionuk members in Scotland in presenting Scotlands #R2KT46 for the first time. They knew she was in development, but they didn’t know she was at a stage where she could make a public appearance. And to add icing to the cake, @saminthecity79 - the official godmother to all #R2KTs around the world, and the first ever female #stormtrooper in #starwars films - was there to also get the surprise of meeting a brand new KT on her maiden voyage.
Thank you for all the kind words over the weekend, and between the 3 clubs in Scotland we look forward to bringing KT out to raise much needed funds for @makeawishuk@droidbuildersuk

Most of you will be aware that Kathleen Kennedy has stepped down from Lucasfilm to go back to Producing. She is being replaced by Dave Filoni & Lynwen Brennan.
On behalf of the droid building community I just want to wish Kathleen all the best in what she does in the future. If it wasn’t for her (and Oliver!) we wouldn’t be where we are today with all the opportunities presented to many builders both in the past and hopefully in the future.
I did speak to Kathleen at the end of last year and said exactly the above. She’s very aware how grateful we are so let’s at least applaud that.
I hope this isn’t going to create yet more negative posts I am reading today.
