At CHAS, we know it’s not just children who need care and support - it’s entire families. That’s why our grandparents retreat at @ardochscotland , made possible with the support of @imaginethischarity , created a space for grandparents to rest, connect and feel understood. From shared stories to quiet moments of reflection, this is what More Than A Hospice looks like - supporting families from every angle, at every stage of their journey. 💛 #chas #childrenshospice #imaginethis #grandparentsretreat

Today, Tuesday 12 May, International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world. The day recognises the vital contribution nurses make to healthcare and is marked each year on the birthday of Florence Nightingale. The International Nurses Day 2026 theme, set by the International Council of Nurses, is: “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” At CHAS, International Nurses Day provides an opportunity to recognise the compassion, expertise and commitment nursing staff bring to children, young people and families every day. This care often supports families at some of the most challenging times in their lives. Without our nursing colleagues, there would not be CHAS. Words cannot express how thankful we are to our teams for all they do, day in, day out. Happy International Nurses Day 2026! 🌈💛 #IND2026 #chas #morethanahospiceappeal

This is Christian. And for his family, CHAS was their lifeline. His family say we were there with the ‘care, kindness and delight’ during some of the hardest and most special years of their lives. We helped them be a family again. And this is their story. 🌈💛 #chas #morethanahospice #makingmemories

What a weekend at the Glasgow @kiltwalk ! ☀️ Over 700 amazing supporters took on the challenge in aid of CHAS this year, and we really couldn’t be more grateful. Every step taken and every pound raised helps us deliver care across Scotland to the children and families who need us most. Thank you to each and every person who walked for us and volunteered for us this weekend - you are terrifically tartan-tastic! 🏆 #chas #childrenshospice #kiltwalk #glasgow

Have you spotted our new advert on the television? Or heard it on the radio? Please help us spread the word that families across Scotland need the right care, at the right time, in the right place. With your support, we can raise £20m to transform children’s hospice care, so that wherever they choose to die, no family faces that journey alone. Today, we launch our More Than A Hospice appeal, as we believe no one should face the death of their child alone. We need to raise £20m to make sure that the right care is there for families, when they need it, and where they need it. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to redesign how Scotland cares for children who will die young. Of the £20 million, £17 million will rebuild Rachel House, £2 million will renew Robin House, and £1 million will strengthen the support we provide in homes and communities across Scotland. As a nation, we can choose something better. And with your help, we will. Together, we will: 💛 Transform our hospices, bringing them to a truly world class standard for today’s children and families, and those of the future. 💛 Make it possible for more children to receive end of life care at home, when that is what families want. 💛 Strengthen partnerships with the NHS, so the same expert, compassionate care follows each child - in hospital, in a hospice, or at home - with dignity, continuity and kindness. This is about giving families real choice: to be at home, in a hospice, or in hospital, knowing that wherever they are, they are loved, supported, and not alone. Because no one should face the death of their child alone. We have one chance to get this right. And what you do now will shape how families are cared for, for generations to come. This is Scotland caring for its children. Together, we are More Than a Hospice. #chas #childrenshospice #morethanahospice #scotland

The sun was shining as our children and families came together for a wonderful celebration of love, laughter and friendship at our third prom event in Rachel House 💛✨ From crafting corsages in the morning to walking the red carpet in the evening, every detail was designed to make the day truly special. 🌸 An incredible volunteer glam squad got everyone looking their best, before our piper Helen kicked off celebrations. In-between dancing the night away with Rachel White, attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet provided by Aldi. A huge thank you to our inspirational staff, volunteers and generous contributors who made this magical day possible. You brought smiles, sparkle, glamour and even more love to a very happy Rachel House. ☀️ A special thanks to... Abseiling off one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks? Nailed it. ✅ At least that’s what 25 daredevil CHAS fundraisers can say after taking on an adrenaline inducing challenge by abseiling 100ft off the world’s first, and only, rotating boat lift! The brave fundraising heroes had the weather on the side as they stepped over the top before making their victorious descent to the ground. ☀️ Having raised £5,000 and counting, we cannot thank them enough for their brilliantly brave efforts! 💛 Fancy taking on a challenge event yourself this year? Get ready to shop ‘til you drop in Dalgety Bay - because our brand-new CHAS charity shop is now open! 🛍️ The ribbon was officially cut today by our chief executive Rami and our amazing volunteer Lee-Ann who has been volunteering with CHAS since 2015. Since the pandemic the fabulous fundraiser has helped raise over £150k for us by running our EBay, so it was only fitting to have her do the honours. Getting our newest store ready has been a real labour of love and we can’t wait to welcome you into this treasure trove of pure goodness. We’re also looking for donations of adult clothing, homeware and bric-a-brac - if you can help, you can drop goods off to us directly at the store. Fancy visiting us? Shop from Wednesdays to Saturdays between 8.30am and 5.30pm at 8 Bay Centre, Regents Way. Happy shopping! 💛 #dalgetybay #chas #childrenshospice #charityshop

Meet Maria. 💛 The cancer survivor recently took the important step of organising her Will and decided to leave a gift to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. After watching a programme about children with life-limiting illnesses, the former member of the Royal Signals sought to leave a lasting legacy that will ensure children and young people are long supported after she is gone. Maria says writing her Will brought her peace of mind and that she would encourage others to consider doing the same: “It made me feel happy and content. I don’t have to worry where my money will go-I know it will support things that matter to me and leave a lasting legacy. “My advice to anyone else considering leaving a gift in their Will to CHAS would be to do it - and do it now. Make sure your money goes where you want it to go.” Interested in finding out more about our FREE Will writing service?
