I’m so excited to share Searching For Sound, a personal photographic project I created with sound architect David Andrew @ask4dave exploring the ritual of searching for sound in digging of music. And the spaces, communities that sustain record culture. Through my visual documentary storytelling and David's audio sound storytelling the work follows the physical pursuit of sound. From neighborhood record shops to the people and places that shape musical discovery. Searching For Sound SFS will debut as a photo exhibition immersed with audio hosted by @bangolufsen at their SoHo flagship. Searching For (((Sound))) Returns Leaving NYC for greener pastures (literally) has a funny way of flipping the script. What used to feel like an everyday norm—walking into a record shop, thumbing through sleeves, losing track of time—now feels like a small luxury. With the little me’s finally in school, I carved out some much-needed alone time to recalibrate. On this particular afternoon: a day trip back home, a chance to see old friends, and of course, a few hours to hunt for vinyl. The recommendation came courtesy of @chwhat , who mentioned a neighborhood spot I “might dig.” Turns out, the place was none other than the reincarnation of a former favorite—Co-Op 87, now reborn as the sleek @brooklynrecordexchange . Thank You @neuehouse for allowing @odetovinyl to be present at your space. Big Chat was an idea that came to mind during the pandemic. Alot was going on in the world and there was an inner calm in being rooted in Carribean culture. At that exact time, @happytredai @thebkcircus and I were playing straight riddims with the amazing @africanvioletroots at @odetobabel . Aside from Djing, I wanted to include the tangibility of culture through conversation. Tre and Ouigi were down to assist me in the idea of recording ourselves talking about our culture through music, with the hopes of creating a podcast. Those conversations were amazing! We still have them to be released to the public but being the perfectionist we are we continue to hold on to them. March 9th was a culmination of those conversations live in front of a packed house. When Tre asked me to help put together the event at @neuehouse , I reached out to a couple of my favorite record shops and unfortunately many couldn’t make it for the show due to prior commitments etc. Luckily one of my favorite individuals @misshapselam who works @recordcitybk in Brooklyn said yes. I would then reach out to my good brother and historian @cooper.libre to add context to the conversation. Mind you, Mike and I have been trying to link up to get on our unreleased episodes of Big Chat. Trust soon come. The Vultron was almost complete. But, We were missing one important thing! Records to sell! I reached out to the legend himself Bene of @360recordshop to supply the night with some affordable digs and he was delighted to and did it literally the night of the event!! Thank you to everyone who pulled up! Big Up! @blackmagic_muzik for the Chunes! Brooklyn was definitely in the house! And lastly! And I saved this for my bro and creative genius of a friend @thecityskyline . This idea wouldn’t be as dope as it is if it weren’t for City. A humble giant! City created the Big Chat Logo! NYE in Times Square was epic! Shout out to the legend @flyingundertheradar for the invite and curating a dope night at @hardrockcafe . Shout out to @laurasfuchs for always being a source of positive energy and finding ways of capturing it on film. I got to reconnect and connect with some good people while bringing in the new year. I can’t front though!! I was beat. Tired. Exhausted! But this is something most NY’ers never do. I got to do it!! Once! Lol 📸@laurasfuchs

My Love Hate Relationship with the Knicks goes back to my formative years. I collected basketball cards. I would trade Jordan cards for Penny cards. If I had a choice I would’ve lived in Orlando as a child. But as I got older. Shaq and Penny grew apart. I started favoring players not teams. It wasn’t until one year the Knicks picked up Penny in his later years that I became a follower of the Knicks full heartedly. The Knicks would also go through some of my favorite players e.g. Jamal Crawford. The Knicks would have me rooting for them. The year before acquiring Melo. A scrappy team but fluid. They were winning similar to how they are currently with Amari playing his best Bball as a Knick. But as the Knicks organization would have it. They would trade everyone literally a half season early to acquire Melo. Ripping the natural chemistry from its seams. I threw away all my Knicks gear in 2016. I was done. Then they acquired Drose. Then the love came back. Randle is playing his best basketball. Brunson is playing with passion and RJ is still scrappy. The supporting players are holding their own. Anyway.. long story. @toddsnyderny tapped me to rep my home team for the TS x @nba collab. It was only right that I paired it with the classic TS Suede Dylan. Cop you one then Cop me one too.
