The Electronic Intifada (EI) is an independent online news publication and educational resource focusing on Palestine, its people, politics, culture and place in the world. It is one of the best news sources on Palestine. Especially during the ongoing genocide, they have done essential reporting with their weekly livestream and many articles. Their perspective and hard work is very much appreciated!
Reggie Johnson (DeepDance NYC) and Jim Dier (Small Change) decided to put together a benefit with 100% of door proceeds going to EI. Here’s a chance to show support for this news outlet that has done so much great reporting on Palestine and related issues since 2001.
Small Change is one of the co-hosts, DJing in NYC since '93, longtime DJ on WFMU and various underground parties in Brooklyn for the last few decades. Now living in Hudson and hosts a monthly show on Radio Alhara.
Miss Hap is a NYC based DJ specializing in reggae, funk, soul for the people. She can be found killing it at various Brooklyn venues or behind the counter at Record City.
Dirty South Joe is an American/Palestinian DJ who is based in Philidelphia. He’s been at it for many decades, pushing sounds like Dirty South rap and Baltimore Breaks / Jersey Club years ahead of the curve and throws a number of events like So Far Gone and Anime Night.
Baby K currently co-hosts the Soulful Dance Music program, The Sweet Spot, that airs Saturday nights 10pm on WBAI-Pacifica Radio in NYC 99.5FM. She also holds a residency at the newly revived East Village Radio. Liberation through sound!
