I keep a Shell Phone by my bed to help me get my head right before I start the day. That liminal moment is where all my best (and weirdest) thoughts live. This helps me aim them in the right direction.
Crafted from a readymade shell enclosure, the Shell Phone series incorporates electronics, sensors, and embedded speakers that activate a soothing audio track upon contact with the ear, offering listeners the serene sounds of the ocean or the calming guidance of a loving-kindness meditation. The form factor plays on the human behavior of picking up a phone and calling for help, but rather, the Shell Phone encourages inner centering and self regulation.
