join us in supporting this family, haitham & sons and new baby girl ! linkinbio hand drawn poppies and text reads "support haitham and his family in gaza" with an image of a father holding two smiling sons on a couch, and a qr code. haitham shared : "Because of my disability and the difficult situation in Gaza, finding stable work has become almost impossible. Rebuilding the shop is also not possible right now due to the high cost of equipment and the lack of electricity. This fundraiser is simply meant to help our family have a small and stable source of support — something like a modest monthly income that can help us cover basic needs like food, medicine, and essential care for our children. We are not asking for luxury, only for the chance to live with dignity and take care of our children during this very difficult time. Any support, or even sharing our story, can make a real difference for our family. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing with us. With gratitude, Haitham and family"

On Tuesday, May 26th at 12pm, ISSUE Online brings together anna RG (2025 AIR) and Theodore (ted) Kerr (2022 SFCF). Drawing on RG’s speculative fiction project, Sick Music Center, the pair establish a shared set of rules, organizing their dialogue around three key prompts they call “Strategy,” “Focus,” and “Loose Ends.” Kerr sets an 8-minute timer for each section, and with that, they play, discover, and ultimately, (¯´•._.• disobey •._.•´¯) @arg___art @tedkerr #issueair20

GHOST BARRELS a new performance w @lu_yim @funtofuntofunto @arg___art thursday january 8, 7p free with rsvp at @sick_center , @recessart please join our year of circling something to get closer to. since the spring we’ve been talking in trio, our starting point is the apparition of once-in-material-world-but-now-nonexistent historical “bed pianos” built for horizontal in valid players. we follow layered tangents from there, together, into sick score-making, fictional music, the legend of the first piano in Korea, music with colonial violent ends (“play the melody with your trigger finger!”), and tendrils of connection and permission between disabled artists. masked, with air purifiers, and wheelchair accessible with accessible bathroom. email [email protected] if you have any access questions or requests.

jan 3, 1-3 at the sick music center we are so thrilled to host GENTLE CHOIR : an interdependent vocal workshop with @annajwitiuk !! free with rsvp, link in bio An explorative experience of voice. We will work within the boundaries of each of our natural and comfortable voices, using communal drone, intimate paired harmony and our best tuned-in listening to make beautiful and surprising music together. These exercises were cultivated out of my own experience of a paralyzed vocal cord as a singer, and are dictated by a slow build of sound and stamina. Influenced also by the tuning mediation technique created by Pauline Oliveros, and other forms of improvisational, playful harmony in traditional folk singing. This is a place to ease into and enjoy what we can create with our voices, closely and at attention. Our voices can create so much more not when we are loud, but when we listen. All levels of singers welcome. access :: fully wheelchair accessible, with gender neutral accessible bathroom. space is cosy with soft spots to sit. [more about the venue is here : /visit] Masks are required for all who are able. If you have a health condition or disability which makes mask-wearing difficult, there will be plus-life COVID testing on site for you to take. Please stay home if you are feeling any symptoms of contagious illness! There will be extra air purifiers present. Please get in touch if you have any questions or access needs ! Anna J Witiuk is a singer, writer, poet and audio artist from Brooklyn, NY. Her singing and music are deeply influenced by close country harmony, cabaret drama and traditional Ukrainian polyphonic folk singing. Her music has been featured on WNYC’s Radiolab, the Guggenheim museum, the Abrons Center et al, and she was a member of the Ukrainian Village Voices choir for six years. In 2024, Anna wrote, recorded and performed a song about her six open heart surgeries called “Good Girl/ Good Patient” for the PussyPaws Puppetry production “That Paradise Place,” an erotic puppet musical about the sex and fantasy lives image descriptions embedded and in comments
