Aptitude Objects
Born from an architectural approach, our work moves between space and object—where form, material and process are tightly connected.
Each piece is developed through layers: design, craftsmanship, variation.
An evolving system rather than a fixed collection.
We are interested in objects that hold a presence—precise, tactile, and slightly unexpected.

For Milan Design Week 2026, Aptitude Studio and Aptitude Objects present Mise en Abyme | Objects from Spaces at Alberto Levi Gallery: a collection shaped by repetition, variation, and material transformation, where rugs and objects evolve through craft, research, and collaboration.
Alongside, Marta Bastianello introduces Venetian Echoes | Framing Light and Matter, marking the launch of Marta Bastianello Design Milano—a refined body of rugs and furnishings rooted in light, material, and a deeply contextual approach.
Two distinct practices, brought together by a shared attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the quiet dialogue between objects and space.

What a week!
On one side, Marta Bastianello Design Milano presents Venetian Echoes – Framing Light and Matter, an exhibition of thirty-four original works: furniture, lighting, vases and rugs shaped by
proportion and an exacting sense of detail. Venice here is not a quotation, but rather it is a method. A quiet resonance moves across surfaces and textiles, transforming what might have been mere
reference into something structural, generative, alive. Design, long embedded in Bastianello’s architectural practice, finds in this space an autonomous voice, amplified by profound craftsmanship.
It’s about a silent dialogue between Alberto and Marta’s exceptional visions.
On the other side, Aptitude Objects shows Mise en Abyme – Objects from Spaces, an innovative rug collection together with a curated selection of objects built through layering and manual aggregation.
The Mise en Abyme - where the image is endlessly reflected, materialising itself instead of being just a metaphor. Each piece exists in two interpretations: wool and cashmere, or abaca fibre. The form
remains constant; the matter transforms everything. The objects emerge as volumetric extensions of the same generative logic, bearing the trace of the hand within structured volumes. Space contains the object. The object contains space.
This collection is the first chapter of an open system designed to evolve and it begins here, at the Alberto Levi Gallery.
Two exhibitions, two visions, one shared understanding: that the most beautiful interiors are those where the walls have learned to listen.
Enjoy the last day of the Milano Design Week.

A dialogue in form and material.
@aptitudeobjects , founded by @aptitudestudio_milano , & @metaphoresparis explore a shared language, where design and textile respond to one another.
Nerone and Bruto Stool unfold through an interplay of volumes and surfaces, shaped by the contrasting expressions of Murmuration and Pampa, between movement, texture and light.
