Anthem Structural Engineers was honored to get an inside look at
@pepsico Denver’s production and warehousing operations with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Chapter 354.
Located in the heart of RiNo, the 34-acre campus was originally built in 1948 and encompasses more than 680,000 sq ft. The facility operates 24/7 and houses 6 production lines, producing more than 218 SKUs and over 38 million cases annually. In total, more than 48 million cases ship from this facility each year to over 25 states.
A few fascinating insights:
🎖️ The military is the largest consumer of
@aquafina produced at this facility.
🥤 the plant produces beverages only & no allergens (nuts, coconut, dairy) are manufactured on-site.
🥫 All cans are supplied locally by Metal Container Corporation here in Colorado.
❄️ After filling, cans are chilled to 34 degrees to optimize carbonation (carbonation binds best to cold liquids), then warmed again so they don’t sweat inside cardboard packaging during distribution.
And the most exciting part: growth is coming. 📈 The current facility, now approaching a century in age, will shut down mid-June as operations transition to a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Denver’s High Point development district near
@denairport . It will be the largest new PepsiCo facility in North America, featuring 10 production lines and taking approximately 12 months to become fully operational.
The existing 34 acres will be redeveloped, and we’re excited to see what’s next for this site. ✨
Facilities like this demonstrate the level of coordination and structural performance required in advanced manufacturing. Anthem partners with owners, general contractors, and design teams to renovate aging plants, support expansions, and deliver new manufacturing facilities built for speed, resilience, and future growth. We’re energized by environments where precision, durability, and long-term performance are mission-critical.
Thank you again to PepsiCo Denver’s Food Safety Manager and Quality Manager for the behind-the-scenes look.
