Anthem Structural Engineers was honored to get an inside look at @pepsico Denver’s production and warehousing operations with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Chapter 354. Located in the heart of RiNo, the 34-acre campus was originally built in 1948 and encompasses more than 680,000 sq ft. The facility operates 24/7 and houses 6 production lines, producing more than 218 SKUs and over 38 million cases annually. In total, more than 48 million cases ship from this facility each year to over 25 states. A few fascinating insights: 🎖️ The military is the largest consumer of @aquafina produced at this facility. 🥤 the plant produces beverages only & no allergens (nuts, coconut, dairy) are manufactured on-site. 🥫 All cans are supplied locally by Metal Container Corporation here in Colorado. ❄️ After filling, cans are chilled to 34 degrees to optimize carbonation (carbonation binds best to cold liquids), then warmed again so they don’t sweat inside cardboard packaging during distribution. And the most exciting part: growth is coming. 📈 The current facility, now approaching a century in age, will shut down mid-June as operations transition to a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Denver’s High Point development district near @denairport . It will be the largest new PepsiCo facility in North America, featuring 10 production lines and taking approximately 12 months to become fully operational. The existing 34 acres will be redeveloped, and we’re excited to see what’s next for this site. ✨ Facilities like this demonstrate the level of coordination and structural performance required in advanced manufacturing. Anthem partners with owners, general contractors, and design teams to renovate aging plants, support expansions, and deliver new manufacturing facilities built for speed, resilience, and future growth. We’re energized by environments where precision, durability, and long-term performance are mission-critical. Thank you again to PepsiCo Denver’s Food Safety Manager and Quality Manager for the behind-the-scenes look. #pepsico #madeinco #futureofmanufacturing #foodandbeverageindustry #structuralengineering

It is with tearful smiles that we at Anthem bid @oh_hey_revae farewell. During her four years here, Revae was an invaluable member of the Anthem team. From innovative design tools to mentorship and collaboration, her contributions to our team are beyond count, and our gratitude for them, enormous. Good luck on your next chapter in California, Revae. We can’t wait to see what you do next! 🚵‍♀️ Fun fact: We celebrated Revae at Avanti Boulder, a project Anthem worked on in 2019. Our team provided structural design and assessment services to support the renovation and adaptive reuse of this iconic Boulder space, making it a fitting place to gather and send her off. #withgratitude #untilnexttime #wishingyouthebest #youwillbemissed

Back at the @national.western.center and feeling energized! 🐎⚡ Anthem was proud to join the COAA Colorado Chapter for an inside look at the brand-new Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Livestock Center—an impressive and highly adaptable facility at the heart of a reimagined campus. This isn’t just a livestock building. Designed as a flexible powerhouse, the Livestock Center supports everything from the iconic @nationalwestern Stock Show to concerts, graduations, sporting events, and community festivals. Structurally, it combines a traditional stick-framed building connected to a PEMB—built for versatility, scale, and year-round use. It’s incredible to see how far this campus has come. In 2011, aging facilities nearly pushed the Stock Show out of Denver, prompting a bold re-envisioning of these 250 acres. Today, that vision is coming to life—preserving Western heritage while creating space for modern, multi-use programming. The Stock Show remains every January, with flexibility the rest of the year (EDM concerts, pickleball tournaments, food truck festivals…you name it). Even more exciting: what’s ahead. 🛣️ Planned adjacent development includes an Equestrian Center, hotel, parking garage, and housing, continuing to shape this area into a vibrant, year-round destination. As structural engineers, Anthem is energized by projects like this—where efficient, adaptable design supports long-term community investment across municipal, commercial, industrial, higher education, and multifamily sectors. Excited to see what’s next at the National Western Center! @therealcityofdenver @mccarthybuild @ppgindustries @dlr_group @aurorak12

Grateful to join the tour of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) Sewer Heat Recovery System serving CSU SPUR and the @national.western.center campus today. 🚧♻️ It’s exciting to see innovative infrastructure in action. This system captures heat from a sewer pipeline running through the site to provide heating and cooling across campus, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels. An especially interesting detail: the facility sits upstream of Denver’s metro wastewater treatment plant—meaning the more heat extracted here, the less cooling the City of Denver needs to do downstream. The CUP is a critical backbone for the National Western Center’s long-term vision, supporting planned housing, academic, and commercial development as the campus continues to grow. Projects like this highlight how thoughtful, efficient engineering lays the groundwork for sustainable expansion. At Anthem, our structural expertise supports complex, forward-thinking work across municipal, commercial, industrial, higher education, and multifamily sectors and beyond—and it’s energizing to see systems like this shaping what’s possible. Thank you to the team who hosted such a great tour. We’re excited about what’s ahead for this campus! @dbianational @pcl_construction @360.engineering

We’re proud to sponsor the Mass Timber Group Summit and connect with peers driving the future of wood construction. 🌲 At Anthem Structural Engineers, mass timber isn’t just a material—it’s a craft. Our team brings deep experience with CLT, glulam, and other engineered wood systems, solving technical challenges while balancing structural performance, elevating design, and advancing sustainability. Recent projects highlight the breadth of what’s possible: 🔹 Boulder Western City Campus – A 118,000+ SF mass timber expansion onto an existing concrete hospital. Our innovative use of CLT panels integrated into composite steel beams creates a slim, fire-rated roof profile that meets strict height limits while achieving a clean architectural finish. 🔹 NC Residence Additions – A fully mass timber guest house and pool house with CLT walls, floors, and roof, featuring elevated wings, a lap pool supported on glulam ribs, and carefully detailed connections to resolve seismic and torsional forces. We’re committed to learning, collaborating, and pushing the boundaries of what mass timber can achieve. #MassTimber #ProudSponsor #MTGSummit @masstimbergroup @strongtie @rothoblaas.north.america @zgfarchitects
