I’m so honored to share one of our favorite projects on @cabanamagazine !
A beautiful 18th century house transformed to accommodate modern day life and extended family and friends. They were and are the most wonderful client, and they came to us with an extensive knowledge and appreciation for design, not to mention a stunning art collection. I let the architecture take the lead, creating minimal window coverings and jib doors to conceal closets while highlighting walls with combed plaster and drenching the study in red lacquer wallpaper by @elitisfrance .
A dream house for a dream client! Link in bio.
Thank you @emmabecque for the most beautiful words and a perfect story!!

I am so excited to finally share our home in the June issue of @archdigest ! Thank you so much @amyastley@alevasseur1 !!
I decided more than 10 years ago to build this house and it has been the most rewarding journey. There were a few stops and starts, but I still pinch myself when I walk through the door. It is filled with stories and love and everything that I hold dear.
Thank you Johnny Tucker for seeing my vision and helping me bring it to life and @katiecduncan for giving me the tropical oasis that I dreamed of. And thank you to everyone who poured their talent into this home including @scottmeara@buntingkristen@bethwilliamsart
Thank you for the lovely words @mrmitchowens . And thank you @julialynnphotography for always capturing my work beautifully! I adore you!!
See it in print in the June issue and online at the link in bio.

I loved designing this dining area for our client’s home in the June/July issue of @gardenandgun . A small c. 1786 kitchen house with a modern glass addition, our client wanted color so we gave them a jewel box with a sumptuous palette and glazed walls. The Uchiwa light by Ingo Maurer was one of my first selections and it sets the tone. A spot for dining, and sometimes working, I selected a modern table with an antique Thonet bench and chairs with custom seat cushions in a fabric by @timorous_beasties . Thank you @lizdemps62 for loving color and taking risks!

When I was growing up, just about everyone thought my mom was my sister. When people would ask, I would smile big and say, No, she’s my mom. She did indeed look like my sister, my gorgeous sister. Happy Mother’s Day to the best! We love you Gigi 🩷❤️🩷
Our client’s study had to be able to serve as an extra guest room if needed, so we made a custom pull out sofa covered in a robust @zakandfox fabric. What we didn’t count on was that the turn in the 18th century staircase would be too tight to maneuver the sofa. Where there is a will there is a solution. We found a sofa doctor to disassemble the sofa just as it came off the truck on install day and before I could blink it was back together and perfectly in its place. Every install has a story, or rather many stories, but you almost forget them when you experience your client’s overwhelming joy of their new home. It’s the best part of what we do.
Collecting has always felt instinctive. I surround myself and our home with books, pottery, objects and art, all meaningful and all personal. I’m fortunate to work with clients who share that instinct, whose collections become the moments that bring a home to life and quietly tell the story of who lives there.
This Saturday @thegibbes_museum , I’m excited to be part of a symposium exploring how we live with art, the rituals of collecting, and what that practice looks like in the South. I’ll be in conversation with Shane David Hall and @saaallysimms for the first of four inspiring panels.

Lately! Scheming fabric ideas with a @degournay wallpaper for a keeping room in Charleston and a little behind the scenes from our renovation project in Larchmont, New York.
Cocktail, anyone? Hidden behind one of a pair of jib doors in the dining room, this dry bar reveals itself only when needed. In our client’s 18th century house, concealing storage neatly out of site became essential, so we met the challenge by creating custom jib doors (these wrapped in a green grasscloth by @phillipjeffriesltd ) and paneled walls that keep function quietly in its place.

An exquisite pair of custom grotto chairs that we commissioned by the talented @studiomikediaz .
I met Mike Diaz 10 years ago while on a trip to Mexico City after a friend of a friend told me about two antique dealers that I had to visit. His keen eye traveled from baroque to modern and I wanted every piece in every room. Since then, I have fallen in love with his work. It is smart, bold and utterly brilliant.
