At @changetheref we use urban art, guerrilla campaigns, and nonviolent creative confrontation to expose the gun violence epidemic that our country is living in.
âThis collage pays tribute to Joaquin Oliver, a child whose life was tragically taken by gun violence. A still from a vintage book based on the film The Red Balloon reflects the fragile innocence of childhood. The child is intentionally cut out, with cadmium yellow, his favorite color, filling the space where he was. I replaced the red balloon with a sunflower, referencing the flowers Joaquin carried to school on Valentineâs day 2018. I hope it honors his memory and reminds us of the vulnerability and value of every child and the urgent need to protect them.â- By artist @isabel.bornstein đť
