So honoured to be listed in the latest #PowerlistAwards which spotlight the UK’s most influential Black British talent driving positive change.💫 Last night was an incredible evening catching up with old friends, hearing inspirational speeches from icons I’ve admired my whole life, and reuniting with some truly brilliant women who have mentored me over the years. I’ve made the list before but this year felt special as the 20th anniversary year of this landmark event. Huge congratulations to everyone else who was honoured. And thank you to @powerlistmagazine for putting on this uplifting event each year to champion black excellence, and reshape the narrative around success at a time when so many DEI programmes globally are under threat 🙏🏽

The best part of being Editor in Chief at Marie Claire? I have to say the people. There’s nothing like working with and mentoring teams of creative talent and watching people grow. So it was incredibly special this week to celebrate 3 of my old MC team for their excellent work in 2025 at the British Society of Magazine Editors Talent Awards.💫 Huge congratulations to the brilliant @allyyhead and @mischasmith on being shortlisted and to Beauty Editor @nesssmoney who won Best Writer in the Specialist Consumer category for her agenda-setting investigative reporting, which powerfully intersects feminism, politics and beauty. 🏆 Nessa was too busy in LA enjoying her new freelance career, so she bestowed on me the honour of collecting the award on her behalf.🍾 Bravo to the @_bsme team and chair @thesciencedaddy for such a brilliantly run evening. So proud to be on the committee of an organisation that works so hard to champion the next generation of creative talent 🙌🏽

A beautiful dinner this week with some brilliant women to celebrate the launch of @emmagrede new book - Start With Yourself 💫 Emma’s views on success, motherhood and visibility at work have sparked a lot of debate but that’s exactly why this book matters. It’s so important to have the tough, honest conversations it’s stirred up about what it takes to build a successful career as a woman, the everyday compromises we make as working mothers and importantly the nuances that make everyone’s personal situation unique. It was great to spend an evening doing just that with a room of such smart, inspirational and entertaining women. Thank you @saintandcitizen the incredible @emmagrede and @adcuratedagency for bringing us all together. 🙌🏽

✨SOME NEWS! After an incredible six and a half years as Editor-in-Chief, I’m moving on from Marie Claire UK ✨ It’s been a huge privilege to lead this iconic brand, work with such talented creative teams and be part of the global MC “sisterhood” of 32 brilliant editors around the world. I’m especially proud to have been EIC at a pivotal point in Marie Claire UK's history after stepping into the role in 2019 to lead its transition from print to a digital-first brand having had the chance to be deputy editor on the print version too. Marie Claire was the magazine I dreamed of working for while still at school - a place where investigative journalism, global storytelling and incredible fashion and beauty could live side by side. There weren't any women who looked like me at the helm of magazines when I started my career, so becoming EIC and being told by so many young women I met over the years that I was a role model to them has meant everything to me.🙏🏽 My vision was to bring the brand to new audiences across multiple platforms and forge meaningful partnerships with global brands without diluting core values. Championing innovation, women's empowerment, sustainability and diversity across all the content was always front and centre for me. There have been so many highlights: unforgettable covers, campaigns and events; launching four new annual awards; unique front row moments, interviewing three Prime Ministers - and two of my favourite cover stars (@aliciakeys and @shakira ); building an incredible community of smart, engaged women, launching my own newsletter, building new audiences across multiple platforms - and winning awards along the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey ( you know who you are!) and to the truly brilliant MC team and my right hand man @sunileo86 (you're all the best!!). I look forward to the next @marieclaireuk chapter and will be cheering you all from the sidelines! ✨ #marieclaireuk #marieclaire
