The UK Government is consulting on changes that could weaken copyright protections, allowing AI firms to use creative content without permission or payment. The PPA as part of the Creative Rights in AI Coalition is calling for: ✅ Fair pay & control for creators ✅ Transparency from AI firms ✅ Stronger enforcement of copyright laws
🚨 Tech firms pay for electricity to power AI — why not pay for the content that fuels it?
📢 Join us in urging the Government to protect UK creativity and foster a fair AI licensing market.

Last month we gathered the UK independent publishing community for a morning of unrivalled content and an afternoon of recognition and celebration.
Here’s the highlights!
The PPA Member Reception earlier this month was a true celebration of the PPA community and an exciting look ahead to next year - a special thanks has to go to our long-term strategic partner Air Business Limited.
Alongside the cocktails, mocktails, canapés, and catching up we thanked our outgoing Chair Nina Wright and welcomed our incoming chair, Katie Vanneck-Smith (Hearst UK CEO) who will take up the position in January 2025.
On her three-year tenure as PPA Chair, Nina Wright said: “Whilst my role as Chair may be ending, my commitment to this industry and the PPA remains steadfast. I’m looking forward to going back to sitting on the Board - thank you once again for this extraordinary opportunity, let us continue to embrace change, champion innovation, and uphold the values that define us as professional publishers. The future is bright, and I am excited to see all that we will achieve together.”
