Another Hobby
You’ve got to be *kit*-ting me! Time has flown by, but I’m gonna *brush off* all this contest anxiety! The contest is over! Don’t give yourself a he*art* attack as the deadline looms! It’s been a toy-rific honor to be a *model* builder alongside you! Our passion for creativity is the *glue* that sticks our community together! Over the last 3 weeks, LEGO ideas have been *snipped*, *clipped*, and *taped up*; some finished, some started, and some left behind. But while we’ve got to get back to our everyday lives watching *paint dry*, leave room for inspiration!

Boy you really *butchered* that poor buck, but you must be *deli*-usional! The *buck* stops here! Happy Birthday my *top-shelf* friend! You’re now at that age to build and *beet* yourself up, stop *loafing*, start adulting, and push your own *cart* in this supermarket of life. But for this special day, you get a *special offer* - help getting out of that *variety-pack* of ideas, you call a *box-store* dome of imagination! - It’s the *yeast* I can do! Soon you’ll learn to sharpen it from *half-price* to *market-price*! And when you eventually get into a *good deal* of trouble, I’ll be here to help you if I can. I’ll even give you time to *ketchup* - but if you *bag* behind, and become *shelf-centered*, *aisle* *packet* up and keep moving on.

Construction Crab
While not made for a magazine, this Alt-Build of set 42163 Technic Heavy-Duty Bulldozer, was built during the Technic Building Challenge at Bricks Cascade 2025!
I competed against an army of other amazing builders, such as @margits_mocs and @cornbuilder ! All while being egged on by the teasing and taunting of @aiden.builds ! But ultimately only one builder can win such a prestigious event and that was none other than @ziontyro !
It was a my first official game I’ve ever played at a lego convention, and I was happy to call it a good, fun, successful experience! Especially since I walked out of there with an adorable little crab that got the honor of being on display at the technic table for the rest of the convention, as well as being the happiest pencil holder and phone charging stand on my desk for the last few months!
While Bricks Cascade was some time ago, I thought it fitting share this little moc now during the month of #timeforcrab !!

We had a great time writing BrickNerd’s latest article and even better time recounting the story of how we got such an amazing opportunity! We hope our tale of Brickworld Chicago 2025 and the time making an alt-build of LEGO set 31217 The Fauna Collection - Tiger as a team, will inspire you take some chances, build with unorthodox pieces, test yourself with a time crunch, and do it all to succeed as a collaborative effort!
