The Loot of the Roots and the Fruits
The Roots and the Fruits, for ages long,
Fought over Loot, where they went wrong.
For vitamins and soil, their battles were rife,
Each blamed the other for the loss of life.
Strange murders occurred, in secret and dread,
With kin peeled and pitted, now certainly dead.
But behind the cauldron, the chief Sorceress stood,
Delighting in war, as an evil Witch should.
With her Book of the Dead, a cold, simple stroke,
She harvested Roots and Fruits with her cloak.
She sacrificed kin, for a recipe grand,
The true evil was her, not a rivaling band.
So the Clans saw the truth, their bitter feud ceased,
To save all their members from the vile beast.
They charged the dark magic, with unified might,
To steal the black book and set everything right.
They turned a new page, their old war put to rest,
For a peace full of flavors, for all was the best.
This is the collab that
@sympatikbrick and me did for Brickscalibur, The Heist of the Century category. Our heroes, the Roots (which I did with one part of the book) and the Fruits (which Sympatik Brick did with the other part of the book) had an endless war between them, but finally joined forces to steal the Book of the Dead, aka the recipe book of an old lady. They were tired of being cut and chopped and they took matters in their own root hairs, vines and leaves. A super fun collab, with colorful characters!
