We’re proud to announce a major collaboration between Yes She Cannes and Screen International for a private Cannes roundtable focused on alternative routes to finance and smarter ways of sustaining independent filmmaking. 🌺 Too often, conversations around film finance focus only on traditional systems of raising money. This discussion opens up the wider conversation:
How do filmmakers find alternative ways of raising money? Saving money? Build sustainable careers, create partnerships, and continue making films without waiting for permission? Bringing together voices across film, finance, marketing and production, this private roundtable will explore practical, creative and forward-thinking approaches to funding and sustaining projects in today’s industry. The conversation will be filmed and later shared online, allowing insights from the roundtable to reach filmmakers and creatives beyond Cannes. ✨ We’re also proud to collaborate with partners helping shape the conversation including Entertainment Marketing Group and Queen Bee Films bring experience across brand partnerships, sponsorship, product placement and independent production, contributing insight into new ways filmmakers can support and finance their work. London Rolling Film Festival also joins as co-host, championing independent voices, emerging talent and creative collaboration across the industry. A huge moment for Yes She Cannes, bringing together key voices for an important conversation around the future of independent filmmaking and long-term sustainability within the industry. While this is a private roundtable, insights and highlights from the discussion will be shared afterwards to continue the conversation beyond Cannes. In partnership with Screen International, Entertainment Marketing Group, London Rolling Film Festival and Queen Bee Films. Day 1 - Berlinale It started with the Q&A with the international jury. I was so happy to see this year’s festival highlighting the role of films in possibly changing the world for the better. I strongly believe in the power of films to influence people’s lives, and I take it as my mission to share, through my work, stories that uplift and inspire audiences, creating a positive collective energy capable of changing the world. This year’s jury, led by legendary filmmaker Wim Wenders, includes: • Min Bahadur Bham – Director & producer (Nepal) • Bae Doona – Actor (South Korea) • Shivendra Singh Dungarpur – Director, producer & film archivist (India) • Reinaldo Marcus Green – Director & producer (USA) • HIKARI – Director & screenwriter (Japan) • Ewa Puszczyńska – Producer (Poland) Reel edited by @mareshka.luna #Berlinale #TriciaTuttle #WimWenders
