Hoş Geldin [Welcome], I debuted at Piccadilly Circus, the most iconic square in London (simultaneously shown in Berlin and Milan), aiming to make our lives visible by starting from the invisibility of trans individuals and trans artists' existence and struggles. @circa.art #CircaPrize 2023 finalist. One of my biggest motivations while creating this work was for the traces of our struggle to be etched in art history, and to achieve this even a bit is an indescribable happiness. The award I am a finalist for rewards in two different categories: one is the jury award and the other is the public vote award. Let's get bigger marks in art history. Please participate in the public vote and vote for Akış Ka. Let's leave even greater traces in art history. You can click on the link in the bio to vote. 💞

Istanbul Pride has been banned since 2015
Istanbul's Governor, Davut Gül, states, "These calls, which undermine social peace, family structure, and moral values, are prohibited."
Despite this, organisers continue to run the Istanbul Pride March and relevant events
This has seen mass arrests and detainments at Istanbul's Pride March. Including mass detainment by officers in civilian clothes in unmarked vans
With recent laws and legislation pushing for further erosion of LGBT+ rights in Turkey, the fight for queer representation and visibility continues
