my live set from unfold CXIX for Trans Day of Visibility at @fold.ldn is now live on soundcloud
the set opens with a short ambient mix highlighting the challenges we face as a community as we gain visibility - especially for global majority, disabled, working class and migrant trans+ bodies
starting with a text i wrote and recorded specially for the event mixed with one of my favourite artists @lyra.pramuk it includes spoken word works by other trans+ creatives @akiskaaa w. unreleased music by @jtamul and @jlin_p + moor mother balanced with reflective sonorities
the rest of the set takes u on a journey through progressive sounds and bouncy grooves with a low end driven sexy sound that y'all know i love
i was supposed to play this set b2b with @qubra_uzun who sadly couldn't make it on the day and so it is first and foremost a dedication to her and to all my siblings, parents, and children who inspire, support, uplift every day
i am still learning what true solidarity means and i hope as u listen u can reflect on how u can show up for trans+ people in ur daily life not just with a t-shirt or an instagram post, but with total, accepting, understanding support

S3BA is a trans*disciplinary musician and artist whose practice spans DJing, live performance, flute, and vocals. She is a resident with Makaan and Blu Parti, and curator/resident at Playbody.
Whether it’s politically informed ambient soundscapes, or bass-driven sexy sweaty dancefloor energisers, S3BA is deeply connected to the musical experiences they create.
