this weeks ‘weekly’ is all about ‘local love’ ~ a year long design project by @_bigshirt that you no doubt have seen at least once on our IG. he’s bringing this incredible effort to us in the form of an exhibition weekend, meaning we will be displaying this project around our venue for people to really get a good look at. we wanna take this lil moment to thank roob so very much for this series. whether intentional or not, these gig guides breathed life back into the meanjin live music scene. we no doubt welcomed some new faces into our venue because of roob’s dedication to local culture, and his commitment to not just communicating this ~ but spending a lot of bloody time curating, scanning, collaging archived materials, all to produce a years worth of programs celebrating the local music scene. a lot of creative heart went into this series, and E+b is very honoured to be exhibiting this over the wknd!!  here’s what we have on: thurs eve is usual ramen night, w/ music from @tinylittlebugg . upstairs we have the “soft launch” of the local love exhibition: for those who wanna get a peek at the work and first dibs on zines for sale. fri is ramen night too, w/ music from @baylaurellane . upstairs is the official launch of ‘local love’, soundtracked by @vidicolour . exhibition running allll night long, in sync with our special refuge invites: @_bigshirt down in the basement. Ft neesha, saia, eddie, w/ visuals by mariana bacalhau. On sat we have ‘crafternoon’ upstairs, where scanners will be fired up with plenty of collage gear to share. Bring your own materials and projects too!! Soundtracked by @vidicolour Sat late arvo is a courtyard affair, with @rinaline ’s beloved oyster bar making another appearance and stacked lineup of local djs. Feat dj bec x @tinylittlebug , @kenokowboy x @djfinance_ , @pond_fogger x @ralph_alfa on sun the ‘local love’ exhibition is wrapping up w/ a chance for final showing. as well, our ‘sunday treats’ series is on in the living room and courtyard: @rinaline is on onigiri duties with both gf and vegan friendly treats available. on soundtrack duties is @tinywhisk_nrg , @winona_router_ and @update.prayer

Hello hello From the 13th to the 16th of March I'm going to be exhibiting each of the 422 posters I made over the course of 'Local Love', plus launching a book I've made documenting each of the designs and the process behind each week. It'll be hosted at @absurda.space at @echoandbounce_ and here is what each day of the exhibition is going to look like. Thursday 13th: Soft Launch 6pm - 9pm Low-key first night of the exhibition with usual e&b ramen downstairs. Friday 14th: Opening Night w/ Refuge in the basement 6pm - 1am A high-key opening night! Come for a drink, a dance, a dumpling. Refuge DJs: @edaveyart @maggit.faggit @n33sha_alexander Saturday 15th: Crafternoon 2pm - 5pm I'll be bringing my scanners and collaging gear, plus paints / pens / anything I can get my hands on. Bring along anything you're working on or anything you've ever wanted to scan and we can collage and scan to our hearts content. Soundtracked by: @vidicolour Sunday 16th: Last day of the exhibition More details to come but this will be the last day to view! All the posters will be available to purchase throughout the exhibition, as well as my book. Sharing some sneaky pics! Walking Home The performance for Me, My Flesh & I at Absurda Galley last Saturday! So grateful to get to share my paper installations and performances with wonderful people. This has been a big journey for me, to share my story of myself, papermaking, surfaces, and to learn to collaborate and connect through art.
