Four heritage craft studios from Scotland will join us for a residency during London Craft Week 11th-17th May. @cavanjayne@_vevar@acme.atelier@kristin.beeler
Explore the process of combing traditional skills to create the contemporary kilts featured in Our Common Ground; an exhibition curated by @slowways_ , which celebrates makers and materials across the length of Britain.
The collective will be showcasing their skills at The Makers Table; an evening of craft and conversation, featuring film screening, talks and demonstrations 14th May 6-10pm.
DYE WEAVE PLEAT will be hosting individual workshops focused on applied dye techniques (Sat 16th May), handwoven yarns and trimmings (Friday 15th and Sunday 17th May) and handstitched kiltmaking (Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th May).

Vevar is a woven textile studio developed from years of passionate interest in design and the rich history of Scottish textiles. The modern micro mill in Glasgow’s East End was founded by two award winning designers @christophermcevoy and @warpedtextiles
In this £80 masterclass, you will learn to weave (and take home!) your own envelope cushion.
What’s more, it will include a complimentary ticket to the 5pm @refractivescot film screening of On Weaving by Luke Fowler @lukefowler78 and Corum Sworn @cocoswo :

It has been a mad few months here at Vevar but we are finally back in Glasgow, back in the studio, and back weaving!
We had a fabulous time in Paris along with @acme.atelier and @cavanjayne about our Dye Weave Pleat project we recently presented at Maison d'exceptions in Paris. More to come on this!

We will also be revealing an ongoing community project we have been working on for over a year with the @thepyramid.scot "weaving our stories"
In the meantime we are getting our heads down working on some different client developments, our own A/W 26 collection, an exciting limited run launching this autumn, and if you have made it to the end of this post a cheeky wee chance to get your hands on some of our samples and seconds at an event in Glasgow, TBA!
As part of Glasgow's 850th birthday celebrations this year, the Fabulous @elainecsmithofficial became a free woman of the city, and in doing so became a member of the @weaversofglasgow . It was Vevar's pleasure to design and weave a shawl, inspired by her iconic character "Mary Doll" for the Incorporation to gift at the civic reception held in Glasgow's City Chambers in her Honour.
