Stiletto is a masterpiece. 6 pitches (26,26,26,26,27,23) of perfect sandstone, overhanging the Grose Valley. It’s so good, first ascensionists, Julian Saunders refers to it as his “Magnum Opus” … no small claim from a man responsible for such Australian mega classics as Lifestyling, Nomads Saints and Indians and Breathing Gasoline to name a few.
Despite it being so good, it has had very few repeats. Even Jake Bresnehan couldn’t do it!! … To be fair … he did have a serious finger injury at the time and was using the route as a rehab project … but still!!
Keen to see what it is all about, two up and coming Blue Mountains crushers, Will and Harry borrow all the quickdraws they can find and get to work!

Stiletto… a story from one of the best multi pitch climbs in the Blue Mountains.
Bolted and climbed by Julian Saunders, Stiletto is a wild undertaking up a beautiful 200 meter overhanging wall above the Grose Valley.

Con-Vinced … when you say No, but Vince says Yes.
On this particular morning we were Con-Vinced to go on an adventure, to scope out a boulder Vince had seen but not yet visited.
The trio of explorers set sail to the distant shores of Lithgow Harbour, hoping to climb what no person has climbed before … maybe?!
Climbing vicariously through Cairo while recovering from shoulder surgery, Vince boldly established 3 new lines on the Harbour’s iconic boulder, and if it hadn’t been for Cairo’s need to leave… Im sure he could have done more.

In 2023, adventure photographer Krystle Wright made waves by winning the prestigious Red Bull Illume award with her striking image Seventh Serpent – a glowing crack of light cutting through the sandstone of Moab. In a world oversaturated with images, breaking through the noise is no small feat. But through her unique approach to illuminating the natural rock features, Krystle had tapped into something fresh – something that felt entirely her own.
"Lighting Up the Dark" follows Krystle as she pushes that vision further, experimenting with light and form against the dramatic, ancient landscape of Mount Wellington, Tasmania. It's a behind-the-scenes look at the process, challenges, and creative spark of an artist redefining how we see the wild.

@krystlejwright is one of Australia’s most respected adventure photographers and has been a personal inspiration of mine for years. So, when I was given the opportunity to tag along and film a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process, I was psyched!!
Having won the prestigious @redbullillume award in 2023 for her photo Seventh Serpent - a glowing crack captured in the Utah desert - Krystle was keen to push the idea further.
So, together with an A List crew, we headed south to kunanyi / Mt Wellington, to explore a wild playground of aretes and columns, combining shadow, shape and light.
Lighting up the Dark / an adventure in creativity.
