I wrote some words for work about Adrian and my slow and heavy alpinism in NZ the other month. You can find them on the Whippa website if you look hard enough.

In 2024 the AAC (before they even knew they were the AAC) loaded into a series of spacecraft and took a trip to the Moon which is located on the land of the Adnyamathanha people. The trip mostly revolved around one or more members of the party getting really scared at least once a day and the subsequent documentation of the fear in their eyes. Most notably Ana, whose trad climbing experience Will had tactfully misrepresented, red pointed Fingernickin’ (24) which was a significant step up from The Eternity (18), her previous hardest trad lead. This trip was graciously funded by @rab.equipment who flew international talent @a.vanoni out from the US to come and see what the desert here is all about. It was documented by the indefatigable @krystlejwright and the irrepressible @_rumblr_ 📸 @krystlejwright

Stiletto is a masterpiece. 6 pitches (26,26,26,26,27,23) of perfect sandstone, overhanging the Grose Valley. It’s so good, first ascensionists, Julian Saunders refers to it as his “Magnum Opus” … no small claim from a man responsible for such Australian mega classics as Lifestyling, Nomads Saints and Indians and Breathing Gasoline to name a few. Despite it being so good, it has had very few repeats. Even Jake Bresnehan couldn’t do it!! … To be fair … he did have a serious finger injury at the time and was using the route as a rehab project … but still!! Keen to see what it is all about, two up and coming Blue Mountains crushers, Will and Harry borrow all the quickdraws they can find and get to work! Stiletto… a story from one of the best multi pitch climbs in the Blue Mountains. Bolted and climbed by Julian Saunders, Stiletto is a wild undertaking up a beautiful 200 meter overhanging wall above the Grose Valley. 🎥 out soon! @will.vidler @harry_kadi @australianalpineclub . . . #climbing #climb #multipitch #bluemountains #australia #rumblr #rumblrfilms

We didn’t send!! Five days out at the lil’ bell tower with three climbing on Ave Cesar and two walking up and down hills. I can thoroughly recommend dragging nearly 200m of rope up the hill so you can sample what’s gotta be some of the best sky cragging around. Thanks to Melissa and Thomas for putting up with our clusterfuck and sharing sweet treats! And shout out to Ollie for the post climb pats! Also another classic instance of @gwenlancashire being the best rock climber in the world. The crag dot com says she smashed it out no worries in a day and we couldn’t even climb all the pitches individually in three. Reminds me of the time she nbd onsighted Moonlight Buttress (she fell jumping off the rocker block on second but what’s a little rope stretch deck between friends) in our chaotic party of three in a twenty hour epic. The darkest horse weapon there is that woman!
