I’m SO thrilled to announce that my project, THE DRAG DIASPORA, a written interview series and editorial photoshoot celebrating queer immigration stories is finally out, and available to read on

This project was the culmination of MANY months of preparation, editing, interviews, and research, and I wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved who helped make it possible.
For immigrants, and those descended from them alike, cultural histories from the queer diaspora are ESSENTIAL to preserve, celebrate, & learn from. This project serves as a love letter to the immigrants, first generation Americans, and those with immigrant ancestors-seeking to preserve their own, or their families stories’, at a time of crisis for so many.
Ever since my Grammie, Ellen, the child of Russian Jewish immigrants, passed, it became a responsibly to preserve my immigrant ancestry that she spent her life researching, documenting, and teaching us about. Whether we’ve experienced immigration firsthand, or our parents, or even ancestors are immigrants, it is ESSENTIAL to celebrate these histories, and speak our cultures loudly.
My look, created by
@shethemystery was designed based on Russian royal court dresses in the 1800s, and was created using fabrics from pieces of my grandmother’s wardrobe I inherited after her passing. Inspired by patina rusted copper, and generations of Russian, Jewish culture I am descended from, this look is a living breathing monument to my family, and my grandmother who I miss every day.
