Directing #RanbirKapoor, not just for any commercial but for the launch film of his own brand @arks wasn’t something I could have foreseen coming a few months ago. But this time there was a knock on the door, and it was a loud one. For idolising him in some many things, to having him as a muse, to being on set with him, and telling him my vision of each shot, to him keeping a hand on my shoulder and saying let’s do this, to not questioning a single shot I took, or why I took it. I always knew, I will direct him one day, but to do it for something which was his dream, and to do it to launch that brand to the world, was a dream come true. If we have worked together, if you have ever believed in me, if you have loved me in any capacity, and if your heart is full of joy, as much as mine - this victory is as much yours as mine. #NewWork - Second time’s a charm. Directed #RanbirKapoor for this second spot for @arks - featuring him in what he calls ‘ARKS Uniform’. Most of you reading this, love him & his work with his performances and films - and so do I, I’ve loved whatever he does. But after this campaign, I am also a fan of Ranbir, the professional. What a smooth fucking ride, and he is what we can actually call as a director’s actor. Here’s to many many more with him, and inshallah a film one day.
