Part 2 of me aggressively romanticising my life in Kerala and honestly? deserved 🌊☁️☀️
(& also proof that I mentally never left this place :))
I don’t think I’ll ever properly explain this trip.
How the air felt lighter.
How the mornings looked painted.
How even doing absolutely nothing felt so meaningful.
Not every moment was “big” or extraordinary ha.
But somehow even the smallest things felt beautiful there — waking up to soft skies & lush valley greens to the sound of uncountable birds chatting, feeling excited on unfamiliar roads, eating at interesting places, hearing waves from a distance, and watching the sunset paint Varkala gold in the evening like some clockwork.
Just so you know, every morning and the evening somehow ended with the sky showing off — where the sunrises were achingly beautiful and the sunsets looked like the universe spent extra time on them.
I mean, imagine the ocean taking its time for the sun to finally rest.
Uff!
Some places entertain you while places rearrange something inside you a little.
This one definitely did the latter — not loudly, but much like how the sun slowly disappears between the clouds and you finally see the moonshine gently falling on you?
Yeah, like that.

I’d always wanted to go to Kerala since I saw a picture of backwaters in one of my school textbooks and finally it happened.
I went thinking I’d have a “tick off” from my travel list, maybe sip a lot of coconut water and click a few aesthetic pictures…
But it had other plans for me.
✨
Somewhere between the endless tea gardens, sweet mallu folks, the clouds that casually drift onto the roads like they own the place, breathtaking yet grounding sunrises, starlit skies and the kind of silence that doesn’t feel empty — found a version of me that breathes a little slower and smiles fuller — like ear-to-ear, literally!
I mean, how is it even real that mornings can look like watercolor paintings and evenings feel like warm hugs?
Also, pretty sure I’ve inhaled more fresh air in a few days than I have in the last year and no, I certainly wasn’t emotionally ready to return to traffic and notifications.
Keralam didn’t just give me views, it gave me moments — the kind you don’t post instantly because you’re too busy living them. @abhishekvinod__ you have my hugs for this, big ones🫶🏽
10/10 would recommend getting lost here as you might just find yourself.

28 trips around the sun and this year, I finally watched one rise 🌄 (rather majestically, might I add).
On a quiet mountaintop in Kerala, somewhere between sleepy eyes and a full heart who was fully amazed, it hit me—maybe this is what 28 is supposed to feel like. Not rushed, not loud… just steady, soft, and quietly certain. Also, I realized two things:
1. Sunrises could be more majestic than sunsets. Totally worth the early alarm (who knew?)
2. 28 is less “getting older” and more getting selective—with time, energy & snacks too😋
There was something about that golden light spilling over the hills that felt like a gentle reminder—life doesn’t have to be rushed to be meaningful. Sometimes, you just stand still, breathe it in, and let the moment do its thing.
Grateful—for all the tiny, big, magical things. To keep going, for the love that surrounds me. This year, here’s to being kinder to oneself. To make (more)space for joy, for curiosity, for things that feel like me. Not rushing. Not shrinking. Just moving at one’s own pace.
And somewhere in all of this, is love. The kind that feels steady, grounding, and a whole lot magical all at once.
To my safe place, my calm, my biggest warmth—you make the ordinary feel extraordinary without even trying. With you, even quiet moments feel like something out of a dream. ♥️
Grateful for how far I’ve come, for the people who’ve held me through it all, and for everything that’s still unfolding—bring it on, I’m so ready!
Here’s to a brand new year—soft, steady, full of becoming :):
& to many more sunrises that remind me to just be.
P.S-if every year comes with a sunrise like this, I think one’s going to be more than just fine ✨

My first international trip — one I took for myself. Duly earned and deeply deserved. Every journey changes you in ways you don’t fully understand until you look back… and this one did exactly that.
Dubai gave me more than I ever expected, and I left with far more than I had planned for.
