after my pagan odyssey over the weekend i was invited onto newsnight on @bbc2 last night to discuss the complexities of british identity in light of the latest census results. many points missed out + was a bit of a whirlwind but managed to get a shout out to hounslow in there at least 😉
just wish i had the chance to ask the bishop of burnley what he felt about the tenfold increase in british shamans! next time… 🧙🏽♀️✨
Eek! I am very, very excited to finally reveal the cover of my first book, FINDING ALBION! 💚
This is my quest for an alternative story of Britain, one which lies beyond divisive national myths and symbols.
It’s a journey through the nation’s otherworldly folk songs, ancient legends and seasonal rites; from Druid ceremonies held on Glastonbury Tor, to midwinter misrule on the streets of Penzance and the strange folk customs that travelled along slave trade routes across the former empire.

two years ago today i marked may day in oxford while writing and researching FINDING ALBION. my time in oxford inspired the second chapter of the book, which explores ideas of ‘merrie england’, the history of morris dancing and the complicated legacy of the folk-collector, cecil sharp 🏴
