It's almost time! The SECOND annual Zone 3 Writers' Festival takes place April 16th-18th.
Three days of literary celebration will start with a reading event hosted by Rebecca Makkai on the 16th, at 6:00pm.
April 17th will be a full day of panels, readings, craft talks, and workshops. There will also be a book fair with titles from our keynote speakers! Additionally, lunch will be provided for FREE for all attendees.
Finally, on April 18th, we will celebrate the accomplishments of high school writers from across the state of Tennessee. Join us in celebrating these talented young writers!

TOMORROW!! Zone 3 Press and the Creative Writing Program at Austin Peay State University are pleased to host the second annual Tennessee's Emerging Creative Writers Contest. This contest is designed to encourage high school creative writers from across the state and foster their growing literary voices.
Recognition of skill and talent is given at every grade level (9th - 12th). For each 9th, 10th, and 11th grade levels, three Winners across poetry, fiction, and personal essay were selected. For those in 12th grade, five Finalists will be recognized with two Winners each receiving a $1,500 APSU scholarship!
All Finalists and Winners will have their works published in Red Mud Review—an anthology of student creative work.

Day 1 of the @zone3press Writers' Festival is in the books! A great Kickoff Event hosted by @rebeccamakkai . She, Jessie van Eerden, Su Cho, and Kim Brooks had an earnest conversation ranging from how they found their ways to their genres to helping the students in the audience find ways to get pen to paper. More today across 20 panels, workshops, and craft talks!

McKee will read from her poetry collection "Creature, Wing, Heart, Machine" at the Writers Here & Now: Alumni Book Launch at the University of Maryland on April 8th. McKee's "Creature, Wing, Heart, Machine" won our 2022 First Book Award in Poetry, and we had the distinct honor of publishing these wonderful poems in the Fall of 2023. We are so incredibly honored that McKee has trusted us with her exemplary talent.
