Tonight the Jackson Center for Creative Writing @hollinsuniversity gathers in the Green Drawing Room at 7:30 to welcome our favorite writers Jessie van Eerden and Matthew Burnside.
Van Eerden will read from Yoke & Feather, her collection of braided essays that moves between demolition derbies and biblical kitchens, mountain roads and ancient myths; each piece a blessing for the everyday sacred.
Burnside will bring Prospectus of Ambient Wonders, a reliquary of prose poems and secondhand prayers, where ants build empires, a groundhog named Needles waits under the porch, and joy and melancholy live side by side.
A conversation, signing, and reception follow.
