Retrospective My Ass by Frank Fu Louvre Museum - part 2 回屁展 - 付尧作品 - 卢浮宫 What a wild 20 years it has been on this performance art journey. To look back and forward at the same time, I intuitively titled my almost quarter-of-a-century body of work, 'Retrospective My Ass’! Officially part of the program for Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin @ripbm , I arrived in Paris with a butt plug in my mouth and a projector coming out of my ass, screening 20 years of my performance art. With a French baguette fresh from the Parisian farmers market, hanging in between my crotch, I rang my eagle winged bell... Perhaps the butt plug and the French baguette could hold up the whole Louvre. What a magical time we live in! Feeling excited to be invited as @friezeofficial VIP guests for this year’s Frieze Art Fair. Contemporary Art Context No. 69: Hungarian Kiwifruit + Croatian Cookies = Slovenian Ambition Management Daring, truthful with a collective sense of social responsibility. This is what the students and professors at the University of Ljubljana @academy_aluo and Hungarian University of Fine Arts made me feel. I had the precious opportunity to get to know them when I visited early December to give an artist talk at the Academy of Fine Arts and to perform a participatory FU-social sculpture workshop with the class. Their curious engagement, vulnerability and passion have made me feel very alive and positive about the future of art education in Europe! Delighted to be personally invited by Marina Abramović to attend her dress rehearsal for Balkan Erotic Epic, last night in Manchester. It was incredibly sensuous and transcending that I was shedding tears during the 4 hour experience! The performances, music, and visuals all came together so phenomenally!! Marina’s courageous, stylish, wild mind knows no bounds and the set is like an orgasmic spiritual ecstasy I never want to leave. The show officially opens tonight, from OCT 9-19. On January 28th, I am curating an art happening with @performanceartla , called the “Hunky Punky Project Series” from 2-5PM at Santa Monica. Also this is a celebration to welcome the Lunar New Year, a time for communal connection and finding renewed purposes. If you are affected by the fire, please let our community know how we can help.  As an LA based artist, I thought of how art can strengthen our spirit at a time of devastation, to help ground each other while reviving our amazing cultural hub city, Los Angeles. This project serves as an opportunity to stand with the community in its time of need, to create a deliberate, casual space for us to experience connectivity and inspiration through art. I first had the chance to perform this “Hunky Punky Project Series” was at art galleries in Zurich when I was selected to perform for Marina Abramovic’s Retrospective Exhibition last October. The Swiss locals had a fun and incredibly inspired time participating in my performance and they taught me something about life humanity and art in return. I hope to transform this energy back to Los Angeles and am excited to see how we can help the city to rebuild. With the upcoming Year of the Snake, signifying Rebirth and Healing, this Jan 28 at Santa Monica, let’s find each other through performance art to reconnect our souls, to revive and restore Los Angeles as a true City of Angels.
