Still digesting and slowly returning to the rhythms of my life after 3 very full weeks in Amsterdam. It’s too big to encapsulate properly, but a few highlights:
❤️The people! Stellar group of performers and producers.
💙Daily dips in this Friesland river during Cleaning the House workshop.
💚Stravinksy’s Rite of Spring at Het Concert Gebouw. Sublime.
💜Private canal tour. Amsterdamers know how to live well.
🖤Trading in my sweats for silk.
💖Spending time with Marina’s Regenerator sculpture.
I collected more than 300 graphite rubbings on a 500 foot roll of receipt paper of the word forever from tombstones across the city from Spring 2018-2020.
I finished around March 8, 2020 along with a few other pieces and planned to have an open studio soon after and then we all know what happened.
Vilèm built a custom machine 🙏🏻❤️ to move the sc/roll. Video is a looped BEV of the forevers passing forever.
The works sat on a shelf until now. It’s been a great pleasure to bring this one back into the light at the inimitable Bushel.
