Mengna is a multimedia artist and researcher born in China and based in Brooklyn. Her work investigates social/algorithmic systems of control and invites the audience to play with power through performance, interactive websites, games, and video installations.
Some current interests of hers are: alien; agency; play as a resisting tactic
Her interactive lecture performance built off her thesis will come to @EveryWomanBiennial this Sat, March 21, at Pen+Brush in NYC.

From headsets to browsers to Dance Dance Revolution, these works find ways to carry forward the lightness, bravery, and tenderness that came with these foundational screens. The exhibition reframes technological nostalgia as an active process of becoming rather than passive longing for the past.
