“here, still”
In my final project for this summer’s @sfpc.study HTTPoetics course, I wanted to explore two skills central to coaching: mindful listening and evocative questions.
I could spend a bunch of time chatting your ear off about how I hoped to leverage non-action in interactive media to elicit mindful states and foster meaningful connection across digital chasms. We could also geek out about making a particle system with #p5js and the importance of quadtrees for efficient collision detection.
But ultimately I hope to hear what your direct experience with this meditative poem provoked within your self.
Thanks to @toddwords and @tylr.yn for facilitating such an awesome class. And do check out the rest of the creative and playful projects in the 2025 HTTPoetics Anthology page. Links in bio.
Most of these art websites won’t work well on mobile, including mine, so take the time to enjoy them on a bigger screen.
wait, a wedding that’s both elegant and fun? You did it! @tapman90 & @alexazapp 💖
we are also so happy to have contributed to the special night with a custom digital guestbook garden 🖥️💐 guests “plant” flowers by taking digital polaroids and leaving a message, and at the end of the day the wedding garden was FILLED with flowers and love.
nothing beats the joy of seeing our friends and the people who love them having fun with what we build 🫶🏻🥰

Why “Abetter”?
Coaching for health and wellbeing is inseparable from matters of community and justice. A field of coaching that is only empowering people with access to high-quality care and financial security is a field that risks widening the gap in health equity.
I titled my coaching project “Abetter” to explicitly welcome people historically sidelined by traditional medical, political, and corporate institutions. We all deserve to live a healthy, free, and joyful life. My project also explicitly calls-in coaches who are passionate about large-scale impact, at the community, national, and global level alike.

The last third of 2023 was full of work. I’ve never been so busy, and I’m truly grateful for it. As power resorts to oppressive violence and avoids responsibility for burning away our fragile home, I hope that holding space for people as a coach, with care, is my role and solace. How can we empower ourselves and find the courage and inspiration to take responsibility for healing and overcome the ways we aggress on ourselves and others, and how can we be each other’s champions? That question is core in my work and every day of my life. I’m unsure it’s enough.
These photos capture some of the time I spent outside of work with some people who restore and champion me. Without family I would be lost. Every one of you who has supported and celebrated me before, during, and after the surgery last summer makes up the soil in which I’ve rooted my joy, and today is one of those days where I stop and notice that tending to the soul in the company of others makes for blooming smiles. Remembering laughter gives me peace. Peace, security. And from this calm I source the energy required to care for others. Thank you deeply.
But also like on a lighter note I wish to make more time to see everyone and hang out and dance and chat and be goofy and cute and cool together. And like I’m still processing that last summer someone pulled the skin off my face and changed the shape of my skull and I’m still not quite used to it and have mixed feelings but I’m also so much happier. And it’s cool to see a bunch of pics that show this and share them with you. Toodloodoo.
