New works by @yoon_potter just arrived at Fringe and we couldn't be more excited to share them with you.
Brooklyn-based ceramic artist Insung Yoon draws inspiration from the minimalist forms of traditional Korean pottery, as seen in her moon jars—traditional Korean ceramics that have a round shape and often milky white moon-like glazes. Originals were made with porcelain and date back to the 1600s. Contemporary artists, like Yoon, have branched out from this traditional look to create their own interpretation of this Korean art form.

Brooklyn-based ceramic artist Insung Yoon came to ceramics after 20 years in fashion - and you can feel that sensitivity in her work.
Her pieces reference traditional Korean pottery, but never feel literal. In this body of work, there’s also a subtle connection to jogakbo - patchworked compositions that bring together fragments, variation, and balance. The kiln plays a big role too - cracks, shifts in color, unexpected surfaces all become part of the final piece.

브루클린 기반의 세라믹 작가 윤인성은 20년간의 패션 디자인 경력을 거쳐 도예 작업으로 확장해왔고, 그 감각이 작업 전반에 자연스럽게 드러납니다.
전통 도자에서 영감을 받지만 그대로 재현하지는 않습니다. 이번 작업에서는 서로 다른 조각들이 이어지고 균형을 이루는 조각보의 구성 방식이 은은하게 느껴집니다. 또한 가마 속에서 생기는 예측 불가능성 - 색, 균열, 질감 - 역시 작업의 중요한 일부가 됩니다.

It’s taken me a few days to post our event recap because there are no words to capture how grateful I am for every person in this post. Last Saturday’s event is one I’ll forever hold close to my heart!

🤍 Showed vulnerability and dove deep into what our peak state of happiness looks like. Then built out a realistic plan on how to get there
🤍 We did inner child work with a beautiful Hypnobreathwork session
🤍 We tapped into our strength with a Vinyasa yoga flow
🤍 Then ended our day with a meditation and cocoa ceremony
Supporting your wellness journey, no matter what it looks like is a passion I’ve held close to my heart for years. To see this come to life and have everyone leave with a big smile on their face was magical ✨

Last Autumn, we produced an exhibition across five exceptional heritage sites in Burgundy co-curated by @jenncellis of @apsara.studio and art historian @emiediamond . The show closed in late November but we are delighted to share that some of the works have remained in Burgundy as part of the ongoing “TERRA Projects.” A selection of paintings and ceramics are split between Isabelle de Montille’s architectural and design gem @lamaisondepommard and our HC offices. En automne dernier, nous avons créé en Bourgogne une exposition dans 5 lieux chargés d’histoire, en collaboration avec @jenncellis d’ @apsara.studio et l’historienne de l’art @emiediamond . Malgré le fait qu’elle se soit terminée fin novembre, nous avons eu la chance de garder certaines pièces dans le cadre d’une exposition semi-permanente “TERRA Projects”. TERRA Exhibition - We were able to enjoy visiting the three other exceptional sites, L’Ancien Théâtre, Le Couvent des Jacobins and Domaine Chandon de Briailles. Bravo to Milena, who through this collective exhibition introduced us to both internationally renowned artists and places enhanced by time.

TERRA artist Insung Yoon (b. Korea) draws inspiration from the minimalist forms of traditional Korean pottery, pulling them into the contemporary conversation by introducing unexpected colors, textures, and design elements over different times.
She moved to New York City in 2005 as a fashion designer and in 2019 selected ceramics as her next foray into the arts.
Insung uses Korean ceramic techniques as roots and integrates contemporary methods, colors, and textures, inspired by sculptural landscapes between art and design.
Through this manipulation of her medium and reinterpretation of her history, the artist creates one-of-a-kind objects that breathe new life into a centuries-old craft.
