I’d love to invite you to my Open Studio this weekend as part of LIC Arts Open. I’m opening my studio so you can see my latest experiments, and have a conversation around cybernetic art and human–machine hybridization — experiencing the creative process up close. This is an opportunity to engage directly with the pieces as they are developed through interaction, resonance, and feedback. Dates: Saturday, May 16 & Sunday, May 17, 12–6 pm Location: 9–20 35th Ave, Studio 2-O, Long Island City, NY 11106 | Cigar Factory, 2nd Floor The festival brings together over 100 artists opening their studios to the public, with exhibitions, performances, and special events throughout the weekend. Full program: @licartsopen @licartists If you’re in the city, I’d love for you to come by.

📍 The LIC-A Art Space @ The Factory LIC 30-30 47th Ave, LIC, NY 11101 🗓️ Inauguración / Opening reception: May 6, 5–8 pm 🗓️ En exhibición / On view: May 6 – May 25, 2026 — A new door opens for drawing tomorrow. I’m pleased to be part of “The Soul of the Form,” a group exhibition that explores drawing as a space where gesture, structure, and expression intertwine—approaching it not just as representation, but as a profound act of seeing and revealing. Curated by Jorge Posada and Joshua Rosenblatt, the show brings together diverse approaches across two and three dimensions, highlighting drawing as a living process. 📍 The LIC-A Art Space @ The Factory LIC 30-30 47th Ave, LIC, NY 11101 🗓️ Opening reception: May 6, 5–8 pm 🗓️ On view: May 6 – May 25, 2026 #DrawingExhibition #ContemporaryDrawing #NYCArt #ArtOpening #EdissonGonzalez

Meet the LICAO13 Curators! Next up, Kelley Banks! All My Friends Are Artists PRESENTS: We Out In Queens LIC Arts Festival | May 13–17 | Long Island City, Queens We Out In Queens is a vibrant group exhibition presented by All My Friends Are Artists, celebrating the creative energy, cultural richness, and deep-rooted inspiration that emerges from Queens. Taking place during the annual LIC Arts Festival, this exhibition brings together a dynamic roster of artists whose work is shaped by the neighborhoods, stories, and communities that define the borough. About the curator: Keilley Banks is an multidisciplinary artist and community curator whose artistic journey has been shaped by a nomadic upbringing that ignited a profound exploration of identity. Her work is dedicated to cultivating a distinct portrait style characterized by vibrant hues, intricate detailing, and compelling symbolism. Each canvas serves as a visual narrative where the Black community takes center stage, interweaving threads of race, class, gender, and sexuality into a complex tapestry of human experience. Central to her work is the study of relationships: with oneself, with others, and with the broader world. Keilley explores how these connections shape identities and influence perceptions. Through her art, she examines the awareness and reactions people have to these connections, and how internal experiences resonate with external realities. This exploration is reflected in the intricate details and symbolism within her portraits, which reveal the complex interplay between the personal and the communal, the intimate and the societal.
