So long winter.. Until next time. I struggle with your dark nights, but are in awe of your beauty even in the bleakness... It means my head will sadly no longer be snuggly adorned with my woolie hats, but you have brought great promise and I face the coming season with huge optimism as always. Thank you ❄️ ##winterseason #spring
I am thrilled to announce that I will be collaborating with Dr Roisin Hyde and an all-female team of innovators on her InnovateUK Women in Innovation Award project Bee Bank. The Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards is celebrating 50 women leading the charge in groundbreaking industries - from revolutionary peat-free farming solutions, to continuous green electricity, to the robotic fabrication of net-zero concrete components – helping the UK to meet its Net Zero 2050 target.
NoMAD (Novel Materials Architecture + Design) is a 3D Concrete Printing startup led by Architect and Concrete Technologist Dr Roisin Hyde. It uses local byproduct and waste materials for the additive manufacture of sustainable, durable and resilient modular concrete landscaping components. Products such as BeeBank, a net-zero net gain wild-bee habitat for urban and rural infrastructure networks.
You can learn more about the IUK supported BeeBank project by Roisin Hyde and her all-female team of innovators through the link in my bio

Entrance of EMBRACED LOOP
Three curves are manipulated to create an entrancing loop that anchors the ground in three points and fluctuates into suspended seats facing each other, creating a space of warmth and connection where people will be looking and talking to each other inside an embracing loop that promotes connection, contemplation, healing, and reflection.

STORE STORE Pavilion was designed and built by 14-18 year olds from local state schools during three STORE Summer Schools, and has been on display in Granary Square this week as part of London Design Festival.
The timber pavilion turned community space is the result of the design intuition and creativity of the young people involved, and is part of a wider project, STORE BUILD, which is exploring the transformation of a garage site into education and workshop space. This build project is implementing a radical process of applied learning and participatory design with young people from the local community.
Thank you to all of the students and tutors involved for your inspiring energy and ideas. Thank you also to those who volunteered for the LDF build.
Design tutors:
Doors: Theo Tan @_theotan and Matt Lucraft @mattlucraft
Roof: Manja van de Worp, Matt Barnes @can_agram and Matt Gabe @matt_g
