š„2023 STATSš„
Considering most of my content was photos & films of me looking absolutely TORE UP this year, I thought Iād give you a glimpse of the other side of me and my year.
Aside from racing the most miles of my career (1008 miles) I was grateful to squeeze in releasing a book, and audiobook, 3 race documentaries, launch a YouTube series, and grow my run & strength app. We also grew our podcast/community by over 400%. Oh and I canāt forget raising two rad kids- my precious @makenzie.mcrae & @isaiah.mcrae
BUT, I must confess, NONE of these stats really matter in the grand scheme of things. The absolute best part of 2023 were the memories I made with family and new and old friends. As someone who has been working since I was a little girl, I believe in the hard, consistent work & using our gifts to love and support others. The medals will fade; records will be broken; and all our awards will soon be forgotten. Our greatest achievements in life are rooted in loveā¦in how we make others feelā¦in how weāll be remembered.
As I said in the Moab film, I still have so much learning to do and this year was a very public season of humbling. Iām excited for the adventure ahead- I feel like Iām just getting started, but also so incredibly grateful that Iāve been going and being supported for this long.
What WE were able to do this year, was because of YOU- this incredible community. I have so much love and gratitude for the many ppl who took the time to encourage me to keep going. I hope in 2024 I can be to you what you were to me this yearā¦YOU ARE AMAZING!
2024 is going to be YOUR best year yet; I believe in YOU! I hope you believe in YOU too! Iām rooting for you always!
Love & strength

75 Days until Badwater 135, BUT before I push myself forward, I need to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped me across the Finish line of @cocodona250
Eddie who sacrificed sleep, energy, and gained a load of stress & exhaustion to see that I had everything I needed- thank you for being there .š
Makenzie & Isaiah for praying for me at the Start line- I cried big tears having both you there and seeing you throughout the race- I love you so much & your heartfelt cheers mean the world to me.
Summer and Shelby- my rockstar pacers: for always bringing sunshine, smiles and so much patience.
Tim, crewing AND pacing is next level commitment and so freakin exhausting- but no one would have known. Your kind words and honesty propelled me forward again and again when I wanted to quit. Thank you for giving so much of yourself and time when I know you could have been 100 different places.
My media team: Ethan, Jesse, Isaiah- for capturing the moments and beauty of this race.
To Courtney and Rachel for understanding me on a level only YOU girls know-this sport is so hard sometimes and your friendship, hugs, and tears are golden to me. Love you and cheering so hard for you always.
Janina- the warrior- you are a light and a force and doing this race meant I got to meet you.
Mik- so many hours shared & I donāt know how I could have moved that efficiently and joyfully without you. I love that we became friends because of this race- youāre the best!
To all my friends and family back home who sent messages of encouragement and laughter to urge me forward- you fill my heart and every word means so much.
To the brands who shined brightest as I prepped and toed the line- thank you for your support & belief in me! @thenorthface_trail@satisfyrunning@runinrabbit@runspeedland@acg@getsaltybritches@camelbak@nordarun
We recorded a podcast which will drop this weekend. Itās raw & honest & I hope will encourage you in your racing.
Still processing all parts of this race- lots of hard, personal takeaways- maybe a few tears. But Iām moving forward w/eyes focused on the next test. I hope I can be better, fitter, and stronger.

No greater gift than to be MAMA to Makenzie and Isaiah!
Thank you for filling my life with love, joy, and endless adventure.
I love you the mostest.
šAnd a special Happy Motherās Day to all my mama friends- your tireless love, service, and commitment does not go unseenā¦today, and always. You are gold.

Epic.
Not every journey goes as planned, and letās be honest- if youāre doing it right, itāll be full of surprises.
I suppose thatās ONE of the reasons I keep signing up for these EPIC ULTRAS. The people, the laughter, the stories, the emotions, the lows, the highs, and the invaluable lessons we learn that we can apply to life.
Not the performance or time I wanted, but I appreciate the experience for what it was- and it was beautiful.
Itās easy to forget how challenging and unique these races are when Iām surrounded by people in my every day life who do them for a living. Itās easy to forget the undeniable courage and belief it takes to sign up and try in the first place.
Maybe thatās what I needed to be reminded of today- the courage Iāve always had to simply TRY- itās changed my life.
Cool thing is, itās not unique to meā¦itās in all of us.
You have the choice to be courageous and try tooā¦in EVERY area of your life. So hereās your reminder.
Be strong.
Be Courageous.
Keep Trying.
Iāll be doing the sameā¦for all my days.

Two surgeries within 12 days to remove melanoma from my arm. A surprise diagnosis while going in for a routine check-up at my dermatologist just a couple months ago.
To say I was disappointed and frustrated is a massive understatement. After almost a year off from running, and just as I was building fitness for Cocodona 250, I was hit with the reality stick.
Training was adjusted; intensity was decreased and I questioned if I should race at all. Obviously I chose to race and clung to ONE goal: Stay grateful.
Every 8 weeks for the next two years, I have to go in for a cancer screening. I realize this is the first time most of my family and friends are learning about this- I kept it quiet on one hand because I wanted to maintain my peace; lean into trusting God alone; and contemplate the truth that this isnāt that bad. Iāve had more than enough friends and family battle cancer in the most REAL way- and for my situation- well, I feel fortunate.
Life is beautiful and hard; and Iām leaning into the beauty of the strength WE ALL HAVE as humans. I just finished a 253 mile race, not because I was the fittest or fastest out there (goodness quite the contrary) but because GRATITUDE is strength; and I GOT TO push my body even when it wasnāt 100% ready to race. I took a hold of an opportunity because life is short and I want to live it fully no matter if Iām racing to the podium or simply leaning toward whatās possible.
Iām not sure how to express my gratitude for the kindness, encouragement and support this past week- thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love this community.
Keep Choosing Strong.šŖ

Finished.
Cocodona 250 was nothing short of a wild, challenging adventure and Iām very grateful for the opportunity to try and finish what I started.
2nd Finish- Tired to my core.
Definitely not the performance I trained for - yikes š„“šµāš«š« but stoked to tap into the raw resilience that refuses to quit no matter how terrible Iām feeling.
So many people to thank #- especially my ever patient and gracious crew and pacers. And to all the volunteers, spectators, and race organizers for the support and hard work.
Iām in a world of discomfort so more later š
Humans are pretty radšŖ
We chose strong!

Photos too powerful not to shareā¦
@yellowrunner faced just about every obstacle the Cocodona 250 could throw her way. Pain, setbacks, lows that wouldāve ended the day for most, but she kept moving forward.
Step by step, she chose grit. Chose resilience. Chose to keep fighting all the way to that finish line in the early morning hours.
An incredible reminder that strength isnāt always about speed, sometimes itās simply refusing to quit.

Thereās a certain kind of magic in watching women refuse to give up on themselves. šāØ
Sally had a heroic battle out on the @cocodona250 course, digging deeper than most of us could even imagine to reach this finish line.
Time to go enjoy that bed Sally. Weāre so proud of you. š«¶š¼
Rachel was adamant about setting her alarm and waking up at 4 am to support her friend Sally McRae at the finish linešš¼.
Greatness recognizes greatness.
