If you’ve been paying any attention to running news over the past week, you’ve probably seen what @rachel__entrekin just did. Last Wednesday, the 34-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama completed the @cocodona250 faster than anyone, man or woman, ever has, running at an average 13:28 minute mile pace for just over 56 hours. That includes approximately 19 minutes of sleep, a series of five to ten minute aid station stops, and power hiking up the race’s 38,000 feet of vert. As she balanced celebration and rest following her historic finish, @davidgleisner had the chance to sit down with Rachel in two post-race interviews to hear the story of the 2026 Cocodona 250 from her point of view. @rachel__entrekin made history at the 2026 @cocodona250 as the first ever woman to win the race outright. She wasn’t the only one to have an exceptional three days out there: All three of the overall podium finishers (@rachel__entrekin , @kiliankorth , and @cody_poskin ) finished under Dan Green’s 2025 course record. Furthermore, the top three women (@rachel__entrekin , @courtneydauwalter , and Megan Eckert) finished ahead of the women’s course record Entrekin set last year. For context, her 2025 course record was seven hours faster than the previous one. The women of the 2026 Cocodona 250 have set a new standard. “If anyone’s going to win this, why can’t it be you?” On her way to a record-setting victory at the @cocodona250 , @rachel__entrekin countered doubts and negative self talk with a simple question: Why not you?

In a historic year for women at the @cocodona250 , @courtneydauwalter finished as the second place woman and sixth overall in the second fastest women’s time ever after @rachel__entrekin ’s new course record. Dauwalter came into this race looking for redemption after DNFing at mile 108 last year, and secured her podium spot with a strong last 50 miles.
