๐Ÿ™ŒSAVE THE DATE ๐Ÿ™Œ Xpace Cultural Centre invites you to the opening reception of our summer exhibitions: ๐‘€๐’พ๐“ƒ๐‘’, ๐“Ž๐‘œ๐“Š๐“‡๐“ˆ, ๐‘œ๐“Š๐“‡๐“ˆ on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 7pmโ€“10pm ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿค ๐‘€๐’พ๐“ƒ๐‘’, ๐“Ž๐‘œ๐“Š๐“‡๐“ˆ, ๐‘œ๐“Š๐“‡๐“ˆ is a thematic about togetherness. Here, we think about what it means to have, but also to reminisce on what we may no longer have. We hold these thoughts and feelings with us as we traverse beyond the self. We seek connection and understanding with others, forming collectives and communities with those we value most. As summertime is especially a time for gathering, communing, and sharingโ€”we reflect upon themes of love and loss in the context of correlating to others. Stay tuned for individual exhibition announcements next week! ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ WINDOW SPACE: ๐™Ž๐™ฌ๐™š๐™š๐™ฉ๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ ๐™‚๐™ž๐™ง๐™ก ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™’๐™ค๐™ง๐™ก๐™™ ๐Ÿญ @oli.e99 MAIN SPACE: ๐™‡๐™€๐˜ผ๐™‘๐™€/๐™€๐™‰๐™๐™€๐™/๐™Ž๐™๐˜ผ๐™” ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Curated by @tttriptychhh @wintanaglobal @bahar_en @nghtanh @spare_label @raz.daram & @farida.archives PROJECT SPACE: ๐˜ฟ๐™ž๐™œ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก ๐˜ฝ๐™ค๐™™๐™ž๐™š๐™จ: ๐™‡๐™ค๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™จ ๐™ค๐™› ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™จ๐™ž๐™ง๐™š โ™พ๏ธ @lingx22 ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ ๐Ÿ“† Friday, May 15, 2025 from 7pmโ€“10pm ๐ŸŒŽ 2-303 Lansdowne Ave. โค๏ธ FREE and ALL AGES ๐Ÿฅ‚ PWYC CASH BAR for 19+ with ID with thanks to our sponsors @paradisegrapevine @steadfastbrewing ๐Ÿฅƒ Poster by @abby.kettner

Using collected TikTok videos, the exhibition reimagines these digital bodies through three abstract formsโ€”experimental video, large-scale collage, and a projection-based media installation. Together, the works translate scrolling rhythms into a physical environment of loops, density, and pulsation. The exhibition invites audiences to linger beyond a single scroll, sitting with desireโ€™s repetition while reflecting on (and resisting) the compulsion to consume. The project and exhibition are generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.

Finally, the last thematic of our 2026/2027 Open Call! ๐Ÿฌ ๐—œ๐—น๐—น๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฌ Increasingly our daily lives intersect with ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ. True or false, real or fake, misery or happiness. This can be seen relating to the rise of AI generated content, political propaganda, and a never ceasing algorithm. But despite all that we contend with, ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ is also a tool of resistance and reliance. It is a state of unsettledness where the act of undoing is also doing. Introducing the thematics of our 2026/2027 Open Call. Our five senses are heightened in moments of ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ง๐˜ต๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด, ready to receive what is tenderly guided towards them.
