Today marks the end of Antibullying week in the UK and provides a chance to reflect on how the work being done to end bullying is necessary in tackling the broader issue of Violence Against Children. I joined the World Health Organisation
@who to host a dinner calling on urgent action against the global crisis of child violence. 1 in 2 children worldwide—over a billion young lives—face violence annually. Bullying forms a big part of the viloence children face and is just one of the issues in the litany of ways that children suffer violence. This underscores the severity of Bullying as a growing issue that, for as long as it goes unaddressed, will continue to enhance the degree to which children experience violence and reinforce cycles of violence in adulthood.
