A former WT Cross Country standout, Will returned to familiar streets with focus, grit, and a whole lot of Pittsburgh pride. š After finishing our hometown marathon second in 2024 and fifth in 2025, he came back stronger this year and crossed the finish line first with a winning time of 2:14:50!
For Will, the win also brought him back to where his love for running began: Coach Bruce Frey and his fellow WT runners. āIām so thankful for my time competing as a Bear,ā Will shared with us, āand itās been amazing to watch the team continue to grow and succeed since I graduated!ā

Iām a 2:12 marathoner! A couple years ago, I never wouldāve thought this was possibleāback when I was riding my mountain bike and hadnāt run in five years. Iāve got a chip on my shoulder heading into the 2028 Olympic Trials. Time to dream big.
