Our bodies, full of karma
Absorb the terror of the world
They are,
The moon visible by day 🌙

"I've Been a Body", Ai fen's third studio album, is out today. The release marks a striking shift away from her earlier electronic complexity toward something more intimate and acoustic. Built around expansive piano compositions that dissolve into textures of drone and screamo, the record feels like an exploration of transformation, vulnerability, and the weight of inhabiting a physical form.
At the heart of the album lies a question that every biologically born woman faces: to become, or not to become, a mother? Ai fen approaches this as both a personal and philosophical inquiry into the expectations placed on women's bodies. Motherhood, she suggests, is not only a biological possibility but also a cultural construct tied to ideas of identity, worth, and destiny. Choosing motherhood can be a privilege, while choosing not to can be an assertion of freedom. The album transforms this tension into sound, using music as a means of reclaiming autonomy and redefining what it means to live within the limits of the body.

"Die So Much" the new single by Ai fen is out now.
Featuring Ema Brabcova, Adriana Morn, Kata Mala, and Andrea Rottin, the track opens a new chapter in Ai fen’s sound moving into something raw, luminous, and alive.
The track is an ecstatic summary of the album's ruminations on living within a fragile body for a limited time while being faced with countless births and rebirths, going beyond what one thought possible, to constantly morph and reform throughout one's life. The track was inspired by the experience of giving birth and the feeling of metamorphosis in becoming a mother, an explosive shedding of the prior self that must remain in communion with past layers of selves in order to survive, maintain a sense of identity, and live while living for another.
“Die So Much” anticipates Ai fen’s third studio album, out November 20.

Opening track from Gone Stray.
Made this one accidentally while testing a new synth, then added chopped samples of orthodox church bells, kind of loved how they sound since I was a kid.

Wounded Healer II is out today. The EP is a continuation of Wounded Healer, released on October 10, 2024. This EP expands on Wounded Healer's themes by inviting spiritual practitioners and artists to create ritualistic or poetic responses to the original compositions. The new release includes four remixes by international producers: Porosty (PL), a retrofuturistic visual and sound artist; Gael (UA), a leftfield techno deconstructionist; Kaosmos (TR), an industrial narrative experimentator; and Restive Plaggona (GR), a dark ambient/techno fusion producer.
The release also features two club reworks by Mala Herba of ambient tracks from the original album, specifically Wily and Rusaleczki. Furthermore, it includes one riso-printed zine featuring ritual and poetic contributions in response to the tracks. These contributions include meditations, spells, and incantations.
The zine contributions were created by a group of artists and practitioners: Monica C. LoCascio, a visual artist working with transgenerational trauma and fungal wisdom; Pêdra Costa, a decolonial anthropologist and performer (Erste Bank Award 2024); Zoe DeWitt, a musician and pioneer of ritual industrial; Switches, a feminist technomagic collective; Badylogia, a poet and herbalist; Liljana Zeic, a queer visual artist; Dominika Wasilewska, a researcher and founder of Wspolbycie publishing house; SAWA, a queer performer and composer; Laura Polanska, a visual artist and photographer; and Opulent Witch, a spiritual practitioner and activist. The resulting object is a multilingual, polyphonic resource for collective care, resistance, and sonic magic.

Gone Stray is the new record by Belarusian producer Sasha Smirnova, released on White Forest.
The record unfolds like a raw and intimate diary, moving between processed vocals, heavy basslines, and ambient textures. Across its seven tracks and two remixes, Smirnova turns instinctive recordings into sculpted pieces, stretching and layering her voice, analog synths, and field recordings. On Defined Clarity, Catalan musician nara is neus adds guitar lines that cut through the mix with a sense of urgency and desperation, deepening the track’s emotional weight.
Themes of memory and resilience run throughout: from moments of abrupt intensity and trap-inspired rhythms to passages of stark melancholy. Each track holds tension between past and present, echoing places one can’t return to and futures still uncertain.
Gone Stray doesn’t try to fit into a single genre. It traces the act of searching, for home, for belonging, for clarity, through sound that is both fragile and forceful.

Out today Evident Focus, the second single from Belarusian producer Sasha Smirnova’s upcoming record Gone Stray, out September 26.
Blending ambient pads, vocals that shift from soft and clean to distorted and heavily processed, and trap-inspired beats and basslines, the track conveys a sense of longing and resilience. Over its five-minute span, it continuously evolves, unfolding in a world that resists, echoing feelings of unbelonging and the ongoing negotiation between past and present.
