🌿 World Wetlands Day | 2 February 2026 On the occasion of World Wetlands Day, we are pleased to announce that all We Go Coop project partners have signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of the Community of Practice on Wetland Contracts. The We Go Coop virtual platform represents the operational tool of the Community of Practice, designed to support cooperative governance for wetlands by enabling public authorities, local communities, experts and stakeholders to collaborate, share knowledge and co-design Wetland Contracts. You can register and contribute!! In line with this year’s theme, “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage”, the platform helps connect local and traditional knowledge with technical and scientific expertise, turning cooperation into concrete actions for wetland protection and restoration. 💧 Stay tuned: the Memorandum of Understanding of the Wetland Contracts Community of Practice will soon be open for adhesion, allowing new actors to join the Community of Practice and contribute to a growing collaborative network. Together, through digital cooperation and shared knowledge, we can build more resilient and sustainable futures for wetlands. @interregeuromedprogramme @gov4nature @anatoliki_sa @medwetorg @architettura_roma_tre @ppnea @ppvranskojezero @fampcomunicacion @fao @unep @conventiononwetlands @wetlands_europe #WorldWetlandsDay #WetlandContracts #TraditionalKnowledge #CommunityOfPractice #CooperativeGovernance

As this year comes to an end, the WE GO COOP project also reaches the conclusion of an important journey of cooperation, learning, and innovation dedicated to collaborative governance of Mediterranean wetlands. 🌍 Over the past years, the project has laid strong foundations for the future: from the creation of the Wetland Contracts Community of Practice, a permanent space for exchange among institutions, experts, and practitioners, to the development and full launch of the WE GO COOP Collaborative Platform, an open and dynamic tool designed to support dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the practical implementation of Wetland Contracts. While the project activities officially comes to a close, its mission continues. The active network of partners and practitioners, together with the tools and methodologies developed, represents a living legacy that will keep fostering inclusive, cooperative, and sustainable governance processes contributing to healthier, more resilient, and better-managed wetlands across the Mediterranean. 🙏 Warm thanks to all partners and contributors, to the Interreg Euro-MED Programme and Natural Heritage Mission for supporting this shared commitment to protecting and enhancing Mediterranean wetlands. @interregeuromedprogramme @gov4nature @medwetorg @ppvranskojezero @ppnea @architettura_roma_tre @fampcomunicacion @anatoliki_sa #WEGOCOOP #InterregEuroMed #WetlandGovernance #CollaborativeGovernance #Sustainability #MediterraneanCooperation #CommunitiesOfPractice #environmentaldialogue

🌍 On World Environment Day, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting the Wetland Contract across the Mediterranean for strengthening environmental governance. 🌱 Institutional fragmentation, weak strategies and lack of shared responsibility are common environmental challenges in many Med wetlands. 🤝 With WE GO COOP, we are promoting meaningful change across the Mediterranean. From the wetlands of Greece to the protected areas of Albania, from the coastal landscapes of Italy to the natural parks of Croatia, and from the shores of Spain to the ecosystems of Portugal, all the way to the biosphere reserves of Lebanon — our partners are joining forces to co-create inclusive, participatory, and locally driven models for the long-term protection and management of sensitive coastal and wetland areas. 🌀 Local governance is the key and transnational cooperation is our engine. @gov4nature @fampcomunicacion @anatoliki_sa @ppnea @architettura_roma_tre @medwetorg @ppvranskojezero @conventiononwetlands @wetlands_europe @interregeuromedprogramme #wetlands #wetlandcontracts #communityofpractice #naturalheritage #mediterranean #interregeuromed #collaborativegovernance #sustainability #greenmediterranean
