A surprising mix of various stories, from new and old times, about the original myth of Dracula: a vampire hunt, zombies and Dracula crashing a strike, a science-fiction tale about Vlad the Impaler’s return, an adaptation of the first Romanian vampires novella, a tragic romance, a vulgar folktale, A.I.-generated kitsch stories... and much more! 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒: 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟎𝐬 We are exited to unveil our Special Section, featuring four restorations. This program of 𝐖𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐛ǎ𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 selects unique, pioneering works that captured the pulse of urban subculture, the struggle for female subjectivity, and the relationship between desire and power. Focusing on the nocturnal city and invisible female labor, these works—like gems unearthed from the archives—invite us to immerse ourselves in a profound echo about the essence of night and cinema. • 👧🏻Smithereens (2K Restoration) by Susan Seidelman 🇺🇸|Asian Premiere|1982|Drama|93min Wild teen Wren trades NJ for NYC, hoping to join the punk scene. She hangs out with the safe Paul, but her tastes run to narcissistic rockers like Eric (punk icon Richard Hell). Wren plans to accompany Eric out west, but it’s clear she‘s trusted the wrong person. • 🎦Variety (2K Restoration) by Bette Gordon 🇺🇸|Chinese Premiere|1983|Drama|100min Christine (Sandy McLeod) takes a job selling tickets at a porno theater near Times Square. She soon develops an obsession, finding self-expression through an interest in porn. Variety dramatizes the changes in her relationships with her boyfriend, Mark, and Louie, a dangerous-looking theater patron. • 🏨Hôtel des Acacias (2K Restoration) by Chantal Akerman et al. 🇧🇪|1982|Drama|43min Two young women arrive at the hotel. The unattached owner is ready for love. The story follows the intertwined relationships of employees and clients, culminating in a ball. The film’s moral: love has its reasons that reason cannot understand. @chantalakerman.foundation • 💁🏼‍♀️Nightshift (4K Restoration) by Robina Rose 🇬🇧| Chinese Mainland Premiere|1981|Drama|75min Robina Rose’s Nightshift unfolds over a single night in a London hotel. The reception clerk, played by punk icon Jordan, performs mundane tasks. As the night deepens, interruptions grow increasingly phantasmagoric, with the deadpan comedy of eccentric guests giving way to surreal visions. More info.: /s/_C3L9evtvgHONfBHKFSR6g

The familiar (and very beautiful) surroundings envelop her with a slight aura of something foreign and unreal, while with just a single sentence she intervenes in the stream of luminous images and gives them a whole new, inner meaning. Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s work is shot on analog film and consists of a simple but immensely effective technique of allowing two separate images to overlap, thus evoking a ghostly atmosphere of timelessness in the classic and elegant rooms. The work was originally created as a double-channel installation for the exhibition ‘Tilda Swinton – Ongoing’ at the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam. 📅 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: 26 April 2026 | 04:00 PM #WbFF #WuhanBailinFilmFestival #ApichatpongWeerasethakul #TildaSwinton #Meditation

Through a fluid, open, and introspective lens, these works document the daily life, light, and poetry encountered on the journeys. They grapple with the ambiguity of travel memories, seeking fragments of loss and belonging, while actively cultivating connections and selfhood across diverse geographical spaces.
