We’re headed back to our beginnings! Since our world premiere at SXSW earlier this year, the Ways of Knowing crew has been organizing our screening tours, with our highest priority being to bring it back to the community where it all started.
All screenings will be in traditional format except for the IAIA screening, which will be in fulldome format — a big update that we have been working on!! We’re excited about the fulldome version as an alternative to VR that allows audiences to view it in community with others and without need for headsets. All screenings are free admission and all ages. If you are in town and around, we would love to see you!

Hoping to get the time in Jan to organize, process, and WRITE about everything. I do not have all the words yet because it was so overwhelmingly hard and beautiful and revealing at once. It is not easy to trust one another to have one, big international adventure! And to all of our old/new friends in Hiroshima/Nagasaki/Tokyo — @erikakobayashiek Matsunaga-sensei Watanave-sensei Tomozawa-sensei Yamaguchi-sensei Kanade-san Hibiki-san…so so so many people who made this possible. Today is the perfect day to remember the threads between erased histories and cultures, genocides past and present, and the violence of extraction. It is all too heavy to bear. But to remember them, grieve them, and, as Sunny said, vow to protect and value the Earth’s elements despite all this suffering will lead to healing.

It has long been a dream of ours to bring Ways of Knowing to Japan, as a bridge for global communities who have experienced nuclear history firsthand. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the WW2 atomic bombings, and we are humbled and honored to screen to audiences in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Tokyo - including hibakusha (atom bomb survivors) and their descendants.
We’re grateful to our friends here who have thrown their support behind this feat - especially Kyoko Matsunaga, professor at Hiroshima University who translated the film into Japanese, and @erikakobayashiek who opened her community to us to make these screenings possible.

The American Southwest tour is well underway🏔️ This is a full circle moment for the “Ways of Knowing” film — it feels wonderful to reconnect with community, make new friends, and bring new life into this project.
Through the film, we will explore the potential of immersive media to tell Indigenous stories; how to recognize lands and the non-human as part of historic preservation efforts; a reminder that nuclear weapons is not just a future threat, but something that has harmed — and continues to harm — lifeways on Earth, before it is even detonated.
